Lavazza Coffee Machine Repair | Coffee Machine Button Not Working | UK eBay Reseller

Trying to fix my wife's Lavazza coffee machine where the button only sometimes worked. The button wasn't working and it wouldn't turn on the coffee machine. The button sometimes worked but slowly got worse until it virtually stopped working. Now it works first time every time.
Don't throw your old stuff away, just try and fix it.

That's brilliant, well done 👍 That's what brings me joy, when I help other people fix items that most people would just throw away.

Many thanks for this - easy fix when you know how. Saved loads of time by going straight to unclipping the top section - I normally would have bust something without your guidance. Thanks again. Peter

The button on my Lavazza coffee machine just stopped working - phoned customer services who did a video inspection and basically said chuck it. You've inspired me to take the top off and see if it can be fixed. Thanks!

Unfortunately that's the world we live in now. They make things cheaper so people will throw and buy new. Not very good for the world when it's probably just a faulty button, but the cost of repair would be more than the device is worth new to them. Good on you for having a go and hope you get it working. If it's the same model as mine I think the top should just unclick rather than taking the side or bottom apart like I tried. It's tough to get off but if you break a bit of plastics trying it's not the end of the world if it saves you money on a new one.

My thoughts exactly Lee, that would have gone in the bin of that I have no doubts! My local (Isle of Wight) Age UK runs a Men in Sheds scheme that helps to get mainly retired men together to work on projects, make stuff, drink tea and generally get out of the house. A shed is about bringing (principally) men together to do what they want to do, to meet others, to participate in shared interests and activities, to “hang out with other men”, to utilise skills and share learning, and to give something back to the community. That was copied from the site but its ideas like this that really help with social isolation but also to reapir and give life back into items that might otherwise end up in landfill. I do like your variety btw!

Thank you Darren. Yes the men in sheds is a really good idea. We have a similar one up here in Fleetwood but it's more a meeting place than getting together to fix things. More should be done to fix old items as it's sometimes really simple.

Nice fix lee, if that of been our house and the button went it would of been thrown to the back of the cupboard or the garage and probably chucked on the tip 5 years later. I could mend the thing like you but never have the time these days or the patience

Thanks for the video. Just a question, before repair the machine if u plugged in the power cable, was the led flashing? Because I have the same problem with Jolie & Milk, the strange thing is that Milk Frother is still working, but the coffee machine doesn't, not even the first flash of startup

Hi, I could get the lights to flash by repeatedly wiggling the button. I don't think the led flashed when unplugging or plugging it back in. I'm not sure what your problem could be.

@@RetroElectronicRepair thanks for reply, is something strange! The milk frother is still working, but the coffee machine does nothing, no flash when connected, buttons don't work. Watching ur video i tought it could be a short in the buttons board. I didn't open it yet because has only 2 months, so still under warranty.

I've not taken one apart fully but if you get the top off you might be able to undo the screws on the bottom and hopefully the sides will pull off. It sounds like it might just be a pipe that's perished and cracked.

It's a shame we now live in a throw away society. Most machines are made cheap now and designed to be thrown away and not repaired. A few less plastic clips and more screws would make this easy to get apart, but then they don't sell any spare parts these days. Most people don't know how to fix things anymore but I make these videos to try and help.
