    So, I was sent here from another KZread thread. I posted on the Digable Planets sond, Cool Like Dat. I am over 60, white, and old school country music. Cool like Dat Blew me away. I mentioned I was on a journey to understand hip hop/rap. Well I got a lot of suggestions and to be honest, I hated most of them. I had come to the opinion that a hip hop record would never be in my collection. That is until now. This album has everything. Great rapping, great singing, acoustic guitar, classical guitar, electric guitar, keys, lyrics that are easily understood, no foul language or misogynistic language, a number of lyrics with biblical references and thw whole thing blends together so well!! This is the first hip hop album that I have heard, that could become part of my collection of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and so on. what a treasure!!!

    Rap is WWE kayfabe, an act to appease listeners who are largely racist. The ones who get into trouble/killed are venerated, as they keep up the illusion. Kanye's first album "College Dropout" is similar, I think you'll like it a lot. Actually, his first three albums are really legit. Personally I don't like most rap for the same reason I don't watch or like game of thrones. But it still won many awards. So really, it's only a matter of taste, and not something you should bash. Johnny cash sung about killing people, many country artists do, in the same story kind of way.

    She made it clear on her album that she picked family, life as a mother taking care of her children over her blossoming career in the 90's. She also said she didn't want to be 'too big' just wants to sell a few records and be known on one of her record. She probably lived her dream until her split with Rohan Marley. He's married to a younger woman now,Miss Lauryn is out doing shows again, I see some on the internet. Who knows what she's up to...another deep classic album again perhaps.

  • @customsongmaker

    @customsongmaker

    6 ай бұрын

    @@TheVidkid67 You're having a hard time believing that Hollywood celebrities are selfish and vain? You are a good example of how "believing in yourself" can't make you smart. #1, "believing in yourself" is the opposite of what it takes to become a professional musician. It actually takes them years of hard work and practice, because they didn't believe in themselves being able to play professionally without hard work and practice. Or the other way to get money without talent is to prostitute yourself, which isn't good for your self-esteem. Most prostitutes end up as drug addicts because they hate themselves - not coincidentally, most musicians also end up as drug addicts. They obviously don't believe in themselves, they believe in drugs. #2, there haven't been "millions" of famous musicians, not even counting every hit song since the invention of the record player. There have been 1200 #1 hit songs since the Billboard Charts began, so it would take a thousand years to get "millions". #3, "sociopath" doesn't automatically mean "serial killer", although Charles Manson was in fact in the music industry. He was friends with lots of celebrity musicians, and he fit right in at their parties. Why is that? The Beach Boys recorded one of his songs, and so did Guns & Roses. So Charles Manson, a serial killer, has sold millions of copies in the American music industry. Only a few hundred people have ever sold as many records as Charles Manson. Most celebrities also support the abortion industry, which has killed 20 million black babies in my lifetime, leaving only 40 million black Americans still alive. Klanned Parenthood has done more total numbers in genocide than Hitler did.
