    This song saved me last year. I was in a very bad place and had almost given up. I was scrolling through KZread and this song was in my recommended list. I don't know why but I clicked on it and I sat down and cried for about an hour. I played this song on repeat until I believed. I don't know why but I felt like I should share my story with you. Thank you for reacting to this MV ♥️

    Burn the Ships is such an amazing song, especially when you know they got the inspiration from a 1500's explorer who landed on enemy shores. When his people became afraid and told him to return to the ships, he told them to burn the ships so that they would have no way to flee and could only press on and defeat their enemy. Such a powerful allegory.

    When I first heard this song, my son wasn't even a year old yet and I was battling PPD, the day I heard this I was planning on jumping off a bridge into the Missouri River and this came up on my recommended on KZread, when it played I felt God speaking to me, reminding me I have a little one that needs a mother and a fiancee (at the time) that needed a partner and eventual wife to help him through life. I've always been a caregiver at heart and though those thoughts continue to make me doubt myself I think about how I have given life to a young human and made a life with my husband. I'm happy to say that though I fight this depression and anxiety daily I have a beautiful son and a wonderful husband to support me emotionally. Praise be to God for this song

    This is my "go to" song when I feel myself slipping back down into such a dark place. I've wrestled for so many years with depression & PTSD. This song reminds me that I am worth something to somebody. Though as a teen I had lost my faith, I didn't lose or ever not believe, but after everything my sister & I had to go through as kids, I did lose my faith & I pulled away from God because I couldn't understand how He could possibly & knowingly put kids through such trauma, thankfully, God is patient & forgiving & I did eventually find my way back to Him. Thank you for doing this song. You're right, someone somewhere needed to hear this. God bless everyone & those who, like me, battle these demons on a daily basis. 🙏🙏🙏

    Ethan, would you mind elaborating that? It’s sad how Christians or people who have never set foot in a church, criticize churches that aren’t thinking inside the box. God made us to be creative and to be the church’s body for Him on earth. I for one am grateful that the nose and the toes don’t have the same tasks, but share purpose :)

    Ethan obviously not changing the meaning of the holy scripture or the framework of it. That is not what I meant, and I am so sorry that it is how you interpreted it. I would never attend or become part of a church that didn’t speak truth. My family goes to two different churches (one Arabic speaking, and the other one is Hillsong) and when we talk about what we learn it’s all the same. I don’t know if you’ve read stuff online or actually attended Hillsong at some point, but I can honestly say that when I read things about Hillsong in the beginning I prayed and asked God to show me if that was the place that I was supposed to be at. I have done my fair amount of research and all I can say is that most of the criticism comes out from a place of anger or misunderstanding. Or even pride. I trust in God and would He tell me to leave, I’d leave in a second, but I have peace with it through the Holy Spirit.

  • @ethantanner9755

    @ethantanner9755

    Reem Saba Here is just one heresy that they teach: Probably most troubling is Hillsong’s embrace of the Word of Faith movement. From the Hillsong website: “We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.” Going along with the teaching that God always wills to heal and that “blessed” equals “healthy” is the prosperity gospel, which adds that God wills to enrich us financially. In Pastor Brian Houston’s 1999 book You Need More Money, he promotes the prosperity gospel: “We have to become comfortable with wealth, and break the bondage, guilt and condemnation of impoverished thinking. Poverty is definitely not God’s will for His people. In fact, all His promises talk of blessing and prosperity” (page 8). Houston insists that he only promotes seeking wealth for unselfish purposes-such as investing in ministry-but it is hard to reconcile the idea that “poverty is definitely not God’s will” with Paul’s teaching to be “content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want” (Philippians 4:12, emphasis added).

    I love this song cause it reaches to the non believers and even to the Christian at church who are not sure about themselves where they at. This is the way God has a message for all us. The he believes on us even tho we dont

    You got her name right at the end. It is pronounced Day-gull (that’s how radio stations around me have been pronouncing it). She was at one point big on Christian radio around here, but I don’t know how much air time she gets now (ultra-conservatives aren’t too happy with her much anymore). Now I have heard this song the most on pop radio.

    It's me. I needed to hear it. I've all but given my life trying to save someone else's. The injuries I received have cost me writhing, and though I would have done it again, it's hard...so very hard. But I keep my smile on daily. You never know who might have needed it see it.

    Where I am not the SLIGHTEST bit religious, I absolutely love this song. I interpret the lyrics differently. I associate them to my wife. We've been together for half of our lives. From Grade 9 till now. We've been married 5 years and together for 16. There have been times in my life that I have no idea how I would've gotten through them without her. That's what this song is to me.

    Lyrics: I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know Ooh-oh You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing You say I am strong when I think I am weak And you say I am held when I am falling short And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours And I believe (I) Oh, I believe (I) What You say of me (I) I believe The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity Ooh-oh You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing You say I am strong when I think I am weak And you say I am held when I am falling short When I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours And I believe (I) Oh, I believe (I) What You say of me (I) Oh, I believe Taking all I have, and now I'm laying it at Your feet You have every failure, God, You have every victory Ooh-oh You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing You say I am strong when I think I am weak You say I am held when I am falling short When I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours And I believe (I) Oh, I believe (I) What You say of me (I) I believe Oh, I believe (I) Yes, I believe (I) What You say of me (I) I believe
