This episode is one of my favourites in the series! Flamme knew exactly how Frieren was going to be 1000 years in the future, I want a teacher like her! I'm sure it would be the best time of my life!

We don't know what will happen at the end because the Manga is still going. And it's already pretty long, the anime is 28 episodes but that's not even half the Manga. It does take a long time traveling to the far north mostly on foot though. They only occasionally get rides and they have to earn traveling money as they go. So it's definitely a long trip.

Friendship being the real treasure is a major theme in this anime. It's shown, not told, but the message is very strongly conveyed. Honestly it does this well, unlike the kids shows that say it in a morality episode but don't really show it.

Not quite the theory weaving like your Apothecary Diaries episodes but it will be interesting to see where these theories take you. And side tracking quests await to add more back story.

Earrings are noticed. Nice.

The following episodes (7-10) should be watched in the same day. Even though you can post your reactions separately, the experience of the upcoming arc is better seen at one time. If you want to figure out Himmel’s and Heiter’s ages you have to guess at their ages before leaving on their 10 year journey, add 10 years to complete their journey, add 50 more years for the ERA Meteor Shower and finally add 20 years for Frieren to meet Fern. If you want to know how old Fern is during the anime just subtract 11 from the years since Himmel’s death. In episode 3 Fern says that she is 16 years old and that is when it was 27 years since Himmel’s death.

7:38 I feel like that's more of a sad smile. She'd come to expect Himmel to know her really well, and to think he's wrong is disheartening. But that's just my interpretation

I see most English speakers pronounce it almost like Flame, which is kind of amusing because they're almost there!

All of the names are very on the nose if you speak German 😊
