Maybe you can make a small temp clamp on or bolt on EZ Up type cover for the dogs when they ride in the back to protect them from the sun on those warm day trips.? No sides for air flow, same height as the cab. It would be a simple project that can be made from scrap material at the shop or even 3/4" to 1" PVC SCH 40 piping. Just would have to make a cloth material top to provide the shade! 😉 All the years I've been to Mammoth, never had made it to Lake Laurel. Had the capability but missed out and was right in the area, camping out at Sherwin Creek campground! Thanks for the vid, well done!!!

All that talus y'all drove up through to get to the lakes is metasedimentary rock - lots of mudstones and limestones that have been metamorphosed and oxidized over 10s of millions of years to bring out that red color. Got its start in the ocean and metamorphosed when the Sierra Batholith began to rise up and push all the metasedimentary rock up and out.
