Музыка
Get the album here: tinyurl.com/julyflame A few bits of trivia that might help enhance your viewing experience. * The video has 1,804 individual images in it. Yes thats a lot of photos! * The fireworks were made from over 180 individual peaches. * The puppets are painted paper glued to a backing. * The matches are one of my favorite things in the video. I loved drawing the cover. * The puppets/set took 3 weeks to design and build. Shooting took 2 weeks. * Watch for cameo performances from the Phantom Mountain chicken and paper clip. * The desk is my Grandmas old kitchen table. You may remember it from the Phantom Mountain video

This is such an incredible, nostalgic, haunting, beautiful and underappreciated song and Laura Veirs is such an incredible and underappreciated artist. A lot more people should listen to her.

Agreed... except for the "shit", whether "holy" or not, and which I can quite easily do without, especially when Laura is around.
Such unexplainable emotions this song gives me
That awkward moment when all the peaches in your forest burst into flame and you have to live on marshmallows to survive.

have to admit that would be a considerable annoyance to any woodland creature not to mention that a diet consisting of nothing more than marshmallows would contribute to early onset woodland diabetes

Nobody could have describe it better.
July Flame, Year of Meteors and the Satbreaker albums are all 3 absolute masterpieces. Not one filler song on any of those albums
Do you know what makes this song so wonderful? I live in South Africa. I reckon you wrote this with summer in mind, but July flame represents something wholly different to me. It's a winter song and yet cosily warm. And yes, we also have devastating fires in some parts of the country that have dry winters. But it's magical to me - it will always represent cold winters and nostalgia.

It definitely is magical. Thanks for the added dimension to this beautiful song!
The Netflix serie Valeria brought me here. Good song. 🙌🏻
This never gets old. I love this
This is utterly beautiful. I don't know why, but I almost cried when the forest set on fire and the snake fell from the tree and died.
Omg... I just had Laura Viers recommended to me, so I decided to check her out. I clicked on this video first and ...... I’m a Paradise Camp Fire Survivor and I was not expecting that!!! Anyway, it’s brillant and amazing and I love it! I think I’m going to like her stuff. 💗
how is her work not world-recognized? So beautiful
Proust writes so eloquently reminding one of emotions and feelings one has forgotten. This song does the same, being so dead-on accurate about deep feelings so as to arouse those same feelings, even if only in memory. I am a man, an old man. Somehow this song makes me think about what the woman was feeling, as I tried to make her fall deeper in love with me, not understanding that it had already happened.
I love Laura Veirs... all songs and albums.
best discovery ever. i'm so glad i found her music.

An absolute classic the likes of which seldom come around. I don't see how this never exploded.
Totally reminds me of a hot summer evening. Awesome.

This is one of my favourite songs... ever.
so many memories omg
I feel like she should be way more well known. The only reason I know about this AMAZING artist at all is because "Little Deschutes" was on Ringer a couple of weeks ago. Then I looked up the rest of Laura Veirs' stuff and fell completely in love. I can't believe I've never heard this beautiful music before. It speaks to my heart.
So this is the original. A lot more melancholy.
It brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful.
The flames.... are peaches. OMG.

This is completely fantastic... in every way...
There are so many things to like and to cry about this video. I saw her perform it live in Boston in May 2018. And this album is phenomenal.
Whimsy...! I love it...
I love how the animals win at the end. Damn you are so creative! So grateful to discover you! Thank you Laura!!!!
Just so you know...i have been obsessed with your music since 2009. This album has had a massive impact on my life...this and saltbreakers and year of meteors have always been there for me ever since i first heard them. The hold they have on me and my memories and nostalgia and the way they bleed into my current selves and eras...the music is literally magic, Laura. I would be a different person without them. I hope this comment reaches you ❤ i have never seen you live but I hope you come to Chicago soon!!!! Thank you for everything
