Because he mentioned it, the biplane with a smaller lower wings is called a sesquiplane.

The albatross and neuports were sesquiplanes

sorta - sesquiplane refers to a biplane wherein one wing is ~1/2 the length of the other therefore his biplane wouldn't and would instead be an unequal-span biplane

Also most Biplanes had multiple machine guns and could even carry some bombs.
i love how this channel is purelly the demonstration of a adhd person's mind,it starts with a normal topic and ends with you saying that you arent going to kill anyone; incredible.

As someone who knows this man, he is no different in actual conversation.
Given that a lot of old WW1 aircraft had rotary radials, that forgo a flywheel by rotating the ENTIRE ENGINE (the crank is attached to the fueselage, the entire engine rotates with the propeller) to save weight, your plane is very good considering that it's actually at a deficit of power for a WW1 engine.
Regarding guns behind propellers: I’m pretty sure they were mechanically linked to the engine so that they would fire between the blades of the propeller as it rotated, allowing pilots to shoot the enemy instead of themselves
@mekiyahhazbin1720

Yep, and it was a WW1 invention! Didn't take them long to figure out that blowing off your propeller was a no-go 😂
@ivy7642

Synchronization gears. They interrupt the firing mechanism while firing would risk hitting the blades. However before they figured this out, they either Risked it (!!!!!) and just shot through, hoping not to hit their prop, fitted the guns to the upper wing, or they literally put armour on the back side of the propeller to deflect shots. The synchro was a very important invention lmao.
@Maverick-gg2do
11 ай бұрын
@mekiyahhazbin1720 It did actually take a bit before they tried syncronization. First, they tried mounting the engine at the back so you could have an uninterrupted view forward to fire, but these planes didn't fly all that well and were a bit slower and less maneuverable than ones with the engine at the front. Then, someone had the bright idea of mounting metal deflectors to the base of the propeller so you could shoot past (and into) the propeller without shredding it apart. This worked surprisingly well, though it did seem to damage the propeller and engine over time and was prone to unexpected breakdowns of the engine. Then someone tried mounting a gun on the top of the wing firing over the propeller, this kind of worked. Eventually someone managed to mechanically time the gun and propeller to let them shoot in between the gaps of the propeller. And this worked REALLY WELL. Eventually everyone kind of just copied that last design
In regards to the comment about realistic and wing flexing; no AND yes. Some planes did have proper ailerons on their wings, but some planes had wing-flexing like the German Fokker monoplane.
With every video from you and M82 I get more and more hyped for Flyout. Any day now I swear I'm gonna burst from exitement. Edit: Also now that you've built this I feel you've got to have a hand building a Handley Page style bomber or a R-Plane.

im glad to see you can make convincing WW1/interwar aircraft in this game, gotta be my favourite era of aviation.
Biplanes are some of the coolest planes, but what’s cooler? Ratt- I mean, triple biplanes .

Challenge for you: attempt the Avro Arrow. - Mach 2 capable - 53,000ft ceiling Quite the stark contrast to a biplane, but seeing someone build the arrow would be good fun

Wing flexing was more a pre-war and early-war thing, with the Camel being decidedly late-war you're fine using ailerons. If you wanted to make a Taube (a 19*10* design, kept in service far too long) then wing flexing would be necessary.

have you considered making the swordfish?
Now make a version with a turbojet stuck in the nose Yak-15 style.
We come for the builds but we stay for the off the wall ramblings😉😂
so hyped for this game. building is similar to basic 3d modelling just so much creation freedom. i wish that dev would add something like war thunder's instructor, that would benefit the retention of audience at release...
Now you have built a prop biplane can you build a jet version with a simmilar design and look?
Could you control the brakes on each wheel to do steering? Like if you want to go left you apply the brake to the left wheel and vice versa.
@PatchBits

I don't think so at the moment
So this is like Automation but for planes? I can't wait!
Build A X-Wing In Flyout! Yes, Awesome. 👍
Congrats on finally figuring out the brakes! On another note, I do think the prop looks a bit fat. That might be limiting your RPMs.
You deal with knocking in the engine (preignition) by either decreasing compression ratio which sacrifices peak power, enriching fuel mixture, which sacrifices fuel efficiency, or advancing ignition timing, which gives better throttle response, enhances peak power, but again hurts fuel economy, or finally, by using higher octane fuel.
the talking section of these videos are proof Will would crack under interrogation very quickly
Will: I don’t wanna kill anyone……..at the moment. WAIT, I’m not gonna kill anyone! In Will’s head: at the moment
you should try storm works or form the depths, they are vehicle building games but with voxels
"The planes were made out of fire and people, mostly"
Can you make an interceptor with a ramjet next?
Best way to win ww1
Nice vid
The camel did have ailerons.
Idea: make the slowest plane that you can Made couse everyone build the fastest
hey, i recently found your channel and love your vids! i have a possible video idea around the same premise of this video (kind of) have you heard of an aircraft called the sky warden, i find it quite interesting and i think building basically a super tactical turbo prop crop duster would make a fantastic video (more or less) keep up the Great content man!
I love how the building section went from ive talkd alot today, to I swear I wont kill anyone.
You have the ksp music in flout!!! Haha!
Kinda gives me a crimson skies vibe.
Can you build an Italian P108 A? Specifically the model with a 102mm cannon? I think the Serie 2
FINALLY A BIPLANE HAHAHAHAHAHA love it
American style World War 2 aircraft at some point? Maybe something German inspired also, like a cross between a Bf-109 and an Fw-190.
Maybe try to replicate the Gloster Gladiator next? By which I mean - push the biplane concept as FAR and as technologically advanced as you can (while having it still actually 'work').
This is now patchbit's sprocket money. Make a heavy tank with very sloped 80mm MAX frontal armour that can beat crossroads. Alternatively, make a fast BMP/PT inspired tank that weighs under 20 tonnes. Lets hope the sprocket fans can stop waiting for a sprocket video!
SR-71? Next I'm sure it won't take you 6 months to build it.
the ksp VAB music makes this vid tbh
Alright, now add a jet engine on it.
The Bi-plane with smaller lower wing is called a "sesquiplane". It doesn't actually have to be the lower wing that's smaller, this term covers any bi-plane where the wings are significantly different sizes, can be either the top or bottom that is the smaller, but it's more common for the bottom to be the smaller. I'm not sure yours would count as such though, I mean the definition I could find emphasize it's a significant size difference between the wings to qualify, I'm not sure yours are that significantly different, but.... it's hard to know exactly how different they have to be. When I think of a sesquiplane, it's things like the various Nieuports, the 17 and the 23 come to mind, where the cord of the lower wing is probably about half the upper wing, or the AN-2, where, while the cord is similar, the lower wing is quite noticeably shorter than the upper.
You're insane. I love it.
You should make a mid war tri engine bomber/ passenger plane
I love how you sound like a typical bri'ish pilot.
Gigachad
Does Flyout not have rotary engines? Because the Clerget 9B from the Sopwith Camel is a rotary. That is, the entire cylinder bank spins around the crankshaft, instead of the crankshaft spinning inside the bank. You used a radial, which would have been rarely if ever used in WW1.
Good, now make the mirage a vtol🔫
