They mentioned a tandem bike in the video, and, yeah, I do think it'd be interesting to have a launch person up front pedaling and steering, then have a person lift off from the back seat. But _all_ of these things seem dangerous, and I'm sure there are risks that probably make it not worth it.

This was actually a REALLY helpful video-- Tucker showed his thought process of when NOT to launch, how to choose to abort, when not to force it. I could be accused of committing too early and trying to force launches (and it's cost me some money, but fortunately not injuries). It just took Tucker getting on a bike, with a ridiculous motor, to sort of pull him down to the level I'm at in my launch thought process, and I really appreciated seeing this. It was chance to see a "great pilot brain" at work in a "new pilot scenario". Glad you decided against trying to get this to work, thanks for leading by example.

You’re lucky! I tried to force a launch once, and snapped my fourth metacarpal in a spiral. I’ve got 6 self-tapping screws in that bone now, with a plate. Hurts all the time. On top of that the new prop cost me $300. Literal insult to injury!😂 Learned my lesson, and now I make sure I do a long taxi before I hit that throttle. Gotta watch the wing, and only commit when it’s “locked in”, flying straight. 👍

There’s a new model I am blanking on, but the ‘veteran Sherman ‘would be a good place to start looking at euc stuff. Chooch tech is the best euc channel imo. That’d be a great collaboration maybe?

Steer with one hand like 2D breaks work, otherwise think like a trike. This is a tactic used by pilots with disabilities. Grab both break toggles in your left hand and hold them to your chest, grab the bike handlebar with your right hand to steer. Keep both feet down for stability and to reduce the cognitive overhead. Roll on throttle, and move your left hand a little down until you feel even tension, then move it left or right to steer the glider pulling against the riser pulleys for leverage. Once your at full power and feel some lift gentry pull your left hand down to boost your lift. A more powerful motor would help. I had the idea for kind of motorcycle-like motor where you kind of sit on the motor that powers a propeller then has stand-offs to either site the glider is attached to and the breaks pull into a handlebar area. It would have some pretty extreme weight shift and feel a little like a motorcycle. Not sure how practical it would be but kind of a fun thought experiment. Maybe such a thing could have a hybrid drivetrain to work like a motorcycle without a glider.

I wish I flew paramotors because I feel like the amount of experience I have riding a bike with no hands might give the edge I needed to pull this off. But having the wing might make it a lot harder than I think it would be as well. Regardless, it was a good try and cool to see an attempt. Glad you didn't get injured in that fall at the end too.

A assist tabs on the cage like trikes. For the bike steering, a spring assist that pulls equally each side of bars to hold straight while hands off. And maybe tip steer or weight shift to aid in wing direction. Just thoughts.

add small bars (pegs) off of the front forks so you can pedal up to speed, then move your feet to the peg to steer, similar to a trike freeing up your hands for wing control.

Dude you rock! Riding a bike with no hands is common albeit unsafe as we know. I'd think a semi weak, engageable detent to keep the handle bars centered would be part of a good design. Also having the harness strap onto the bike should be considered allowing it to be "ditched" with on quick pull or an over-stress. But having the bars centered to allow the bulk of steering to be done by the wing might be the way to go. Having the bike provides SO MUCH MORE utility for travel plans. Keep pursing this. People in Seattle could fly this contraption to Friday Harbor, pack up the chute and ride into town for a meal or two and come back avoiding a mountain of painful traffic and ferry rides. I want your job when I grow up!

You can also try to fly from behind a motorclyclist, he will control the motor bike and you will control the paraglider, I think it is worth to give both ideas a go !

One thing I noticed is the bike is designed to make you lean forward, while the paramotor you need to lean backwards, there's a chance you could take off fully if you leaned backwards a bit more. As for the handle problem, maybe it would be best to lock it in place so you cant turn, that would delay the off course wobble a bit and you can focus more on the wing, but you'd have to almost treat the bike as a unicycle at that point (

You really can't lock the bars because it won't self balance then and you can't steer it anymore. What I would try is a different bike because it might not need as much speed to be stable without hand on the bars. Also a more powerfull motor or a different seating position would help with more speed
