i ran across u and watched one of u using the recycle machine, would u do one if the 1234yf detected 134a what would u have to do at that point. i really want to no before i buy one. some have said they had to decontaminate it but did not show it. if at that point its gona be complicated and expensive then i would buy a separate identifier and not take the chance with that expensive machine. please help me out about that subject. also i would think i would need a reclaim machine for those so i could put the contaminated refrigerant in a separate tank. thanks

You are exactly right. Or what someone would do when no one is looking is just open the lines and vent to atmosphere. I'm not saying to do that, I'm just saying it happens daily.

Have you lost the ability to program tire pressure sensor id numbers into your vehicle computer with your scan tool? The one I bought allowed me to program in the id codes for 2 of my new tire pressure sensors on a 06 dodge grand caravan, but I didn't do all 4 at one time. After I finally changed the other tires, the reader wouldn't connect to the van any longer so I updated the software on the scanner. Now, it will no longer allow me to do anything but see the id numbers. Even then, I have to fight through various menus to get to that point.

We were able to do that on a toyota no issue. I can't say for sure on the dodge but I suspect it would.

The identifier is ok to get some minimal contamination. It's the actual tank you want clean clean.

Do i have to have internet access in order to use this tool? So what happens when the 2 year free update ends? or Does it stop working till i pay a subscription? Can i still fully use all its functions if i decide not to pay for any updates?

You only need internet for the initial setup. After the updates expire it still works, but let's say you do an update in 2026, it won't have 2027 and later model years. Some of the 2027+ models will still work if they don't have major changes, but once they have a major change you won't be able to. All the 2026 and older will be good for that tool indefinitely.

Yes, you need internet to use it. If you go for a test drive and plug it in later, you'll have to use your phone as a hotspot. It also wants GPS on all the time otherwise it won't work.

Any idea if it can reset a Nox sensor on a renault vehicle? Thank you

I would like to answer this but we don't have Renault in the U.S so I can't say. Is there a reset procedure called for in the service manual? Typically our nox sensors set codes if there is a fault and it needs to be repaired, not just cleared or reset.

You stated the tool is wireless. I see the tech has the cord plugged into scanner. Not sure why. I am looking for an additional scan tool and this appears to be a good option for me.

@bubba.watercraftj7269 I handed it to him with no instructions, he did not realize it was wireless. It is for sure.

@@paulkelley86 thanks. That makes sense. Our snap on is hard wired. The snap on zeus at my old job was blue tooth. I am seriously considering this CRP919EBT as a secondary scanner and one to use at home and on family vehicles. I am told that the Launch scanners on Amazon are built by Launch, however they are intended for overseas markets. Is this correct?

@bubba.watercraftj7269 this one seems to be pretty US based. I did try out another one that was for sure more global. It has a lot of non obd2 connectors. I have a review on that one coming too but I'd recommend this one. Still happy with it.

@@paulkelley86thank you for your help. I did purchase the one from Amazon through your link. The box states CRP919E BT. Passenger car overseas on line diagnostic configuration. (Blow box). After it loaded its software it had numerous vehicle brands I never heard of. I did test it briefly on two of my personal Toyota vehicles. It seems to work. However, I didn’t do anything bi directional because both of these vehicles are working properly. Lol. I have the iTPMS linked to it and it defaults to kpa for pressure and Celsius for temperature. Annoying. Have to change settings each time I scan a sensor. I have not been successful changing the default to psi and degree F. I am hoping the rest of the scanner functions work ok though. I plan on taking it to the shop on Wednesday or Thursday when I work. (I only work 2 days a week) since I retired last year (medium/heavy trucks, and some smaller fleet vehicles) I still enjoy working, just not full time. (My body doesn’t like it.)

@@paulkelley86 Thank you for your help. I purchased one from Amazon through your link. The box says CRP919E BT Passenger car overseas online diagnostic configuration (blow box) I tried it on 2 of my personal vehicles but didn’t do anything bi directional because both of my Toyotas are working fine. Lol. I will take it to the shop where I work 2 days a week since I retired. I’m hoping the tool works okay since it appears Europe based. When I first set it up all kinds of overseas vehicles populated for available diagnostic testing. I also purchased the i TPMS gun tool that links to it. The pressure readings on the tablet show as kpa and temperature shows in “Celsius”. I needed to manually scroll through settings each time to see PSI and degrees F. Frustrating. It defaults to Euro readings. I couldn’t seem to change defaults. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks again.
