Lolita Carbon is a singer, songwriter, misician and activist, she is the lead singer of folk rock band ASIN (salt), their contemporary folk music often include songs of protest, social justice and environmental issue.
this is like the COUNTRY MUSIC of the philippines ... i play this on the road, while driving! i grew up on this music and listening to it makes me reminisce everything from my past ...
World music at its finest. No belting. No vocal flares. No growls. No curls here and there. Just connection and the feels.

Lolita Carbon is a legend and dang her voice remains the same! Asin is w/o a doubt one of the pillars of OPM. I was thinking of suggesting Asin before after you did OPM classics and thankful that you checked this out.
We as a filipino people, adore so much to ASIN. even up to now, if asin perform ,we always wanted to hear their song. Their spirit and style of music is very pure and admirable. It gives us peace and the feeling of connection of human and nature ,even youre not under the sun or moon ,or even youre not in the middle of the forest, but the feeling of your always in heaven, because their music is very relatable to our filipino lives. In connection to everything, family, politics, and nature. We admire them and love them so much. The feeling that binds us together, the islands of luzon, visayas and mindanao. The whole Philippines. Thanks for this wonderful world. 🙏♥️🇵🇭
Asin's sound makes you feel like your soul is being caressed, and the sheer poetry of their lyrics...ahh. When I was younger we usually listened to them while having some friendly drinks, love them...
Listen to "Itanong mo sa mga bata". Also a song from their band Asin.

during her younger days Lolita’s voice is amazing,, try to listen to her bands song “Asin”
this classic folk OPM is what I consider the most lyrically beautiful song. and the original studio version is even more melodious and bittersweet and poignant. "Himig ng Pag-Ibig" means Hymn of Love
She has a deep voice like Stevie Nicks. 👩🎤 🇺🇲🇵🇭
Try reacting to " Masdan mo ang Kapaligiran"...
Asin is legendary. Miss Lolita is a solid legend
Now that you reacted to Lolita you better do the whole Rappler performance of "Masdan mo ang kapaligiran" and "Usok".
All songs of lolita carbon is fantastic see and hear her album , thank you.
Lolita Carbon is a well respected vocalist and her voice remains as it was after so many years
Great singer composer....long live ASIN❤️❤️❤️❤️.thanx waleska and efra
Both of you got it, ASIN is known as a folk band, but their songs are anthems of activism, especially for the rights of indigenous minorities. ASIN is a 3-piece band including Lolita
now that you heard Lolita Carbon..its time to check out her band ASIN
Asin is my absolute favourite. They don't have any bad song. All their songs are masterpieces. They won't ever get old as far as I am concerned. Thank you for featuring them. Try to listen to the original version of this song as performed by them in their earlier days. You would surely appreciate them a lot more.
ASIN is translated as Salt in English... Metaphoric in the sense that they are a Country Band in the 70s that sang about the beauty of the country side, the children, the wind and dust... Salt is everywhere, from the sea to the mountains that gives flavor to the fresh fruits and veggies that was cultivated by the hard work of the farmers... and NOT listening to their music is A SIN.

"Asin" is one of the legendary bands which lyrics in their songs simply sounded poetic.
I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR YEARS but didn't know the name of it!! This song is so nostalgic! My mom used to sing it to me as a lullaby when I was a kid just because of the soft melody.
Next: Joey Ayala singing Walang Hanggang Paalam
Please check out the show “ Your Face Sounds Familiar” when KZ Tandingan sang as Lolita. Ty❤️
No other Fiipino band, past and present, captured our interest and imagination better than Asin (where Lolita Carbon is a member) because of their thought-provoking and socially relevant songs capable of penetrating conscience and the human soul. Please watch and react to their other legendary songs whose messages remain relevant to this day.
I love Yeng’s version of this, it’s more magical, like a fairytale. I don’t remember the original version, could be the same with Yeng’s, but this one is more connected to the earth.

The way Waleska sneezed is so cute! 2:10... anyway, ASIN band is legendary!
Hi there just subscribed from philippines she's one of my idol here in our country Lolita carbon. Thanks for listening to our Filipino talent. ❤👍🥰🇵🇭
The band Asin was originally called "Salt of the Earth" then they simplified it and called it Asin which literally means salt. Cesar "Saro" Bañares was gunned down during one of his live performance in Koronadal South Cotabato.
Lolita is a living legend and a rock royalty in ph better enjoy her while you can. Rip Wally G.
One of there songs from the 70's is still relevant up to this day...
She is one of my all time favorite singers. I love her voice.
Almost all, if not all, of ASIN (SAL, SALT)were hits during the 80s or late 70s until the 90s because of their distinct folk style and the songs being so relatable and melodies so likable. Paired with Lolita's voice that's so different. Try to review more of their songs whatever's available in KZread. You'll definitely like it
Your comment at the start of the song is actually what it meant to do. I grew up in a city during the 90s but I used to hear this song from my father's favorite radio station. My parents grew up in the countryside and they made us appreciate that kind of life every given opportunity.
All Filipinos knows their songs..all their songs cuts through the heart...all classics...

Sadly a lot of my friends don't know them. Even if some are born in the 80s.
Lolita is my favorite singer and Himig ng Pag-ibig was the one my crush then would always request for me to play it in guitar and sing whenever we would do jam back in the 90s. Tho the song I believe was released in the 80s.
You two are my news favourite youtubers. I'm rediscovering Filipino music through your videos and I realise there's so much I don't know about my own country. ¡Muchísimas gracias!
You exactly got the vibes of the song...the music told you all about the song regardless of not understanding the language...wow,music is so powerful
I'm not crying, you're crying :( I miss my country...
She is a legend of Philippine folk song you should also know the king and queen of Philippine rock
I was born in '72 and i still listen to this classic Filipino songs, even Apl De Ap of Black Eyed Peas, he loved Filipino classic songs.
If you could only imagine her voice in her prime. Mindblowing vocal presence
Thank you featuring legend Rock bands.. Wow I love you both
They (Asin Band) started in 1978 as a group with 2 other folk singers, Mike Pillora Jr and Cesar Banares Jr (RIP) and lately joined by Fred Aban Jr. I watched Lolita Carbon and Asin Band thrice and still at the age of 65 shes still rockin. ❤️🇵🇭
Love this song.
I grew up with this music even memorised all of their songs by heart.
Listen to its original recorder album version. Asin is lit and dope man!
Just an added info, the band's original leader was Cesar Bañares. He was murdered last 1993. A result of (what witnesses say) an argument with some patrons at his own KTV bar. The 3 perpetrators, one of which was a lawyer, have since been meted a life term sentence.
Asin, my favourite Pinoy band of all times. One of my favourite Asin songs. We played this song all the time when I hang out with my friend-musicians...and I still sing it to date. Try to translate all their songs. You will be amazed by the messages the songs bring. Amazing voice in her youth.
How I wish you reacted to a performance done by her when she was in her prime. Haunting voice and so beautiful. Her band, Asin, used to perform in different bars nightly in Metro Manila, and I frequently used to follow them around. I loved listening nightly to good music while drinking back then. 🙂
ASIN's songs much more related to nature, politics, and reality.try listening to "Masdan mo ang Kapaligiran"
Maraming salamat for reacting to OPM Classics guys.
im crying,...thanks for reacting Filipino classic songs
I rarely comment to your videos but I am an avid fan of you two. Can I just tell you how much I appreciate how deep your insights are? Rarely I see youngsters like you appreciating classic songs and giving in depth analysis as well. Thank you for appreciating the vast talents our country offers to the world. God bless you Wale and Efra.
Asin band is Legend here in Philippines.
2:31 OMG that was spot on!!! It's called bukid in our language. I've always associated this song with life in "bukid". The beauty of the rusticity, not caring about anything at all, just enjoying the beauty of life.
I love it whenever you react to our classic hits.. This is one of my favorite pinoy FRC( Folk, Rock &Country) music. CLASSIC!! ❤❤
Oh my God! I literally had to pause the video for this comment. You just nailed what this legend's orignal band (Asin) was all about back in the days. Nature... Life... Love... Humanity. I wish I could see more reactions to this classic band. Such a powerful vibe they will bring you. They will hit the softest spot in your heart wether or not you understand the language.

I'm surprised how efra and waleska describeb the songs which exactly what i also imagined. High five to you guys.
Glad, u found them, one of the legend of filipino music, a very famous folk band ASIN during their time
This song always transports me back to my childhood days where everything is so pure and clean - less pollution . Everything and everyone is not in a hurry. Everyone is a friend. Food is fresh. Oh gosh, nostalgia!
One of the most beautifully written songs from Asin. It just never grows old.
check their music, they are pillars of pinoy folk/ rock
Here's another ASIN song that you might like as well. Their song "Ang Bayan Kong Sinalangan (Cotabato)" has a really interesting melody, but once you dive in to the translated lyrics, it's really deep. The message is still relevant today in the world. WE LOVE LOVE LOVE HER SONGS A SENSE OF NATIONALISM ... LOVE HER CLASSICAL SONGS , VERY GIFTED SHE IS 🇵🇭👍🙏❤️
If you could hear it when she sung it when they were a little younger, you can appreciate it much more. But the band all in all is still great.I love them all!😘😘😘
The songs of Lolita Carbon is legendary, pleasant to ears and most especially you wil love the music more and more!
Thanks a lot bringing the window of our earth. Most of ASIN songs are social relevance... That’s why they were imprisoned during the Marcos’ Martial Rule... I became a music loving person because of this group. ASIN means salt...
WoW thanks for reacting to my favorite artist . Maraming salamat
So much love for Lolita and Asin 💛💗
Their music takes me back to my age of innocence. Just pure bliss. Everything is magical, enchanting. Himig ng Pagibig. Hymno de Amor.
you should listen to Lolita Carbon when she was younger.... they say that in the bistro/bar, you "could hear a pin drop" whenever she sings....lol. her voice is that great! ASIN is a folk rock band, singing their own compositions and many folk songs from different regions in the Philippines. BTW, ASIN- the band name- was actually inspired by Joan Baez's SALT OF THE EARTH song! (Asin means salt) Thank you.
Love you both you bring back our old time fav.
Oh thank you so much for reacting to them, that band is called Asin, salt in English, they're songs until now are being played on the airwaves. Asin songs are really refreshing to the ears ...that song was one of their greatest hits back then. They're songs create a lot memories after listening to them... you are correct their compositions were like poems either environmental or love songs they really ryhme like poems and the choice of words they used in all their lyrics were deep and the melody, gosh, would automatically stick in your ears after listening to them, so lovely, so reminicing... they're songs are their greatest heritage to Filipinos...thank you so much once again for your wonderful reaction to our classic artists and their songs.😍God bless. Peace✌️
One of my favorite lyrics in Filipino music history.
PAGBABALIK is my favorite song of her with her band ASIN
I grew up listening to her songs. Asin was extremely popular when I was in highschool. 🙂
Asin is a legend. my one of my Fav!!! just like old days. More Asin pls!!!
I’m still listening there song especially it’s available in U tube.
Timeless. Asin. Lots of great songs from them.

Waaahhhh legend!!!! Lolita Cabron. Please react to more OPM Classic artist.
Omygosh!! Waleska is so cute when she sneeze🥺
Thank you Wale and Efra for this...ASIN...❤️🇵🇭
Asin (Salt in English) was initially formed in 1976 as a trio namely Cesar (Saro) Bañares, Pendong Aban & Mike Pillora. Lolita joined the band the following year after she met Cesar. This band was among a few which were bold enough to write progressive songs which raised political, social amd environmental issues during a martial law regime. If my memory serves me right, the group was tragically disbanded in the 2nd half 80s after the murder of Cesar Bañares. When we were in college, we would catch them live at a bar called Mayrics accross University of Sto Tomas along España Blvd.
ASIN (salt) fronted by Lolita Carbon (though the other members sing too) is Folk-Rock legend. I love all of their songs. Speaks eloquently and true of every time, to every generation. Their voices especially when they were younger are just perfect.
One of the most beautiful songs and lyrics ever made in PH. Please listen to the studio version of this and their other songs. It’s a folk rock and it’s a very different vibe
Thank you for appreciating the music of my teens --- the protest years in the Philippines!
I love how you guys appreciate music and that theres no border, language barrier when it comes to music as the beauty of it goes beyond the language. You gotta hear asin on their younger years as the voice was more crisp and soothing to the ears. A true folk band!!
We still love to listen to her songs until now.
