Pretty much all singers around the world sing without lyrics/notes in front of them for live performances/concerts. And crowds everywhere generally know all the words too. This isn't unique to Indian singers, nobody is shocked by this ability.

I think Indian music industry is one of those few industries which still gives importance to emotions in music a lot. And not just the industry but also the crowd.

They lyrics in indian songs are clear and powerful. Songs are not mereshow of difficulty of singing , music, etc, but they connect with emotions of audiences.

I don't like high-pitched male voices. They don't sound like male to me. I, too, like the contrast between male and female voices in duets. They convey the feelings so much and are pleasing to ears. You don't have to display range etc etc to convey emotions .. it should be relatable to audiences at the end of the day.. who are not judges of music shows who judge your musical knowledge. That's why I love Indian music and songs.

If you are in indian crowd you would here whole song from audience, because we don't only listen to the song but also memories the whole song with lyrics and melody.😊 Sometimes, we make our own lyrics on the same melody😅.

The 1st one is not an Indian crowd. It's a Sri Lankan crowd. Sonu is amazed because hindi is not even a language here. But most of us love bollywood and grew up watching hindi movies so we know the songs very well.

Actually it's sung by Sadhana Sargam not Alka

I remember Justin Beiber performed in India. He was criticised because he did not sing much and he was lip syncing. He focused on dancing. Indians when they come to a concert they want to hear the singer singing, dancing is just not necessary it's just an artist's choice.
