His solo work wouldn't be considered Kpop.. He is in a Kpop group but his solo work is Cpop and he has also released an English version of his album for his US debut. He is representing China though not Korea 😊

Lay is so talented! He composed and produced all his songs. He’s one of the most sought after celebrities in China.

Lay is an incredible dancer, singer, producer. He’s a model for Calvin Klein. He created his own Converse! He products and composed his own music. He does a lot of songs in English. Some are mixed.

Lay is a very special existence for me. He wasn’t born spectacular; all that you see is built purely on hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. He can’t read music, but train his ears to near perfect pitch and can reproduce any note he heard. Before SM, his dancing was mediocre at best. He practiced with weights strapped to his waist, and it paid off in all those light and sharp movements that he’s best known for. He was designated a role in EXO but continue to improve himself in vocal, piano, guitar, music production when he didn’t have to since SM would probably never give him the chance to show it off. A man dedicated the music and the stage, that’s why it’s so incredible to see him perform every time.

EXO will be having a comeback by end of November. 2 members have enlisted in the Military already leaving EXO with 6 members and Lay couldn't participate with any EXO activities since 2016 because there is a conflict between China and Korea and he is very big in China, he is like a youth ambassador, so thats why he couldn't participate. But he was present last year comeback in TEMPO Chinese Version only. We are hoping Lay will join this comeback. Since he is in Korea 💖

My boy became a King Bee 🐝, I personally don’t like rap or english versions of korean or chinese pop music but Lay does it so well even tho he is chinese but I do love his chinese version better. I love and support him but to be honest the english lyrics make the song just too americanized but everything else in the MV and Lay were on point 🙀. *He filmed the intro at a Grand Hotel in a very luxurious penthouse suite in Seoul, South Korea where only the highest ranking people like presidents, government officials, high-class celebrities, etc stay whenever they visit and our Angel Yixing is one of those people! This is all in english but please don’t think inappropriately about the lyrics because that’s not what he’s talking about at all; ugh the song itself is so cringy when I run into people who think that way, it gives others such a wrong idea what he’s saying when he says “I need a taste...honey” especially people with dirty minds. IN An INTERVIEW HE EXPLAINS “HONEY” IS INSPIRED BY HIS FANS’ LOVE FOR HIM WHICH IS SWEET & PRECIOUS, YOU’LL JUST FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM MORE...It’s disappointing that not allot fans notice the EXO logo within the honeycomb pattern b/c many stopped considering Lay as part of EXO. Even though he’s stated in several interviews & indicted EXO logo within his MVs to show people that he is still part of EXO and he doesn’t have plans on leaving. His english speaking has improved so much but you can still hear his cute broken english whenever he talks. This is his 4th comeback as a soloist, it has been about 3 years too long now since he started his solo work on top of having to do chinese related events and music festivals, etc because the chinese from what ive read & heard over the years they don’t do the whole military thing so they have other ways to serve their country. (lol which means theyre basically stuck in China until they fulfill their required services). BTS is the biggest in the western world but in Asia, it's more varied. For example, in Thailand GOT7 would be the biggest, in China it's almost undisputably EXO when it comes to K-Pop (I lived in China for 3 years), in Japan it would still be TVXQ. And these groups make tons of money in those countries, too. What I mean is, the industry is big enough for a lot of people to succeed simultaneously. I just kinda dislike how a lot of people from the western world (not you guys) think just because they only know BTS, the group is the only one that 'made it' and the others are 'flop'. I am especially offended when people think it's the only group whose music is 'worth listening' and unlike other 'mindless meaningless K-Pop stuff' without even trying to discover other groups. But the other groups are doing just fine, and even exponentially better than what people expect. I like my fave groups for a lot of reasons but mostly because their music and concepts vibe better with me. I don't need people to preach to me how I'm listening to 'wrong groups' just because they're not extremely well-known in the US. Again, as Chen from EXO said when EXO received an award previously "There's no competition in music". And I feel that on a spiritual level. People like what they like and there's nothing wrong with that.

Lay is such multi talented boy yet he still worked so hard to learn from different way, from different people and try different things and he kept improving every single time which really amazed me. I really love him and EXO.

The first time I noticed Lay was when he replaced Jonghyun (SHInee's leader) on their world tour concert because Jonghyun was injured. Right there and then I realized that he really was talented because why would they choose him as a replacement for the leader. He was Lay of Exo M at that time.

I was a one direction fan but then shifted to cpop, but i do agree that groups don’t have much space to shine anymore. Some kpop groups even have a hardtime to be acknowledged in western music industry (except BTS, EXO, SUPERM, GOT7, MonstaX). Lay will do soo well as a soloist in the western music, he’s fresh. He’s almost like Chris Brown, performing, style of music and dancing wise.
