How did World War II affect the lives of Latinos and Latinas? Founder of the Voces Oral History Project, Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriquez, shares her experience and research about how U.S. Latinos were treated during and after the war. Author, Craig Symonds hosts this Admiral Nimitz Symposium segment with great questions from our audience.
Bio:
Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriquez has more than 17 years of daily news experience. Her research interests include the intersection of oral history and journalism, U.S. Latinos and the news media, both as producers of news and as consumers. She founded Voces Oral History Project in 1999, which has videotaped interviews with over 960 men and women throughout the country. She received her Ph.D. as a Freedom Forum doctoral fellow from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her masters is from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and her bachelor of journalism degree is from the University of Texas at Austin.

    Armando is a Spaniard for sure tho white he has a Spanish name that doesn't allow him to be grafted in we all come in different colors as Latinos
