We clap on movies, but usually it happens during first few days from the opening days. Especially with passionate movie viewers, who usually watched on the first days of screening... with standing ovation too. Usually When cinemas are full of appreciative viewers..But after few weeks, viewers are more relax, and they are not that kind of viewers.

Only a handful could read and write. These men graduated from the most prestigious schools and became leaders in the Church. The Spanish priest were threatened by them, and the message to the Filipinos was "know your place". No matter how smart and brilliant you are, how talented, how much you achieve, you must "know your place, we are not equals".

If I am not mistaken, he is a theater actor and movie actor. - The method of execution used that time was garrote. I also felt teary eyed in several parts of the movie. I wish I can disclose here, but I'd rather not to avoid spoiling others (though technically, this was already recorded in history). 😂

I think him in Bagumbayan to witness the execution was for cinematic effect and not true. He was a little boy in Calamba. Likely they just want to depict how his older brother Paciano narrated it to him and that helped shaped his beliefs.

actually it wasn't, first was Herman pule, second was gomburza, third time was Andres bonifacio. the Philippines tried to overthrow the Spanish three times.

Pule was displeased with the friars for denying him entry. He did not directly fight the Spanish govt but was forced to when they sent troops to suppress them. You can say his struggle for equality with the friars inspired Fr Pelaez and then Fr Burgos.

I watched GoBurZa too coool. There's a Cinema in Up Town mall where there're no chairs, instead they are using Queen Size bed instead of Chairs. They bring GomBurZa in court marshal (military court) because they can't be convicted in Civil court because they are Priests, its more highly likely they will not be convicted.

Rizal and his La liga de Filipinas was inspired by the Gomburza's ideology of la solaridad it was the KKK's idea to revolt. And also Gomburza inspired Reverend Gregorio Aglipay to establish IFI Iglesia Filipina Independiente aka Aglipayano church.

Is the popcorn there still made with coconut oil? Popcorn all over the world (when it became popular in movie theaters, especially in the US) where made with coconut oil (the Philippines used to be the biggest exporter of Cococnut ptoducts '1920's - 1970's). The coconut oil made the popcorn in movie theaters smell so good that pepole inthe US must have popcorn when they watch a movie (true story). Then some idiot medical doctor said that coconut oil increases cholesterol (which is NOT TRUE - THAT IS A FACT) and popcorn makers stopped using cocobut oil and replaced it with vegetable oil, canola oil ( which is the one that is unhealthy once it is burned, THAT IS ALSO A FACT). sorry, just I'm babbling! 😅 But, popcorn made with coconut oil, the best! ❤ Also, "Zamora," hey, that's the name of the street in my hometown in manila that i grew up in! 😆 I haven't seen the movie so i don't know if it is historically accurate. There are many things in the history books there that are not true...but that's going to be a very long conversation. Nice video, chicas!
