It's understandable it's sound Mexican because the Spanish royal family commissioned the Philippines to the viceroyalty of new Spain based in Mexico City 1565 to 1821. On 1821 Mexico achieved Independence from spain. So after 1821, Philippines was governed directly by Spain. That is why there is a lot similarity between Mexico and Philippines. I had a friend who work at US and said, if he miss Philippines, he will just go to Mexico coz it feels like his in Philippines, hehe..

OMG! I can’t believe it, you’re the only one who did a reaction video on Philippine Folk Dances. I used to be part of groups like these before where we perform and represent Philippines on different competetions and showcases. My heart is so full. These dances you watched are the Spanish influenced which are mostly from Luzon Area. I hope you get to see Cordillera(Igorot, etc.), Rural Dances like Tinikling, maglalatik etc and the Muslim Dances like Singkil and more for you ladies to see the diversity of our Country. You can also check out modern influenced Philippine Folk dances(fusion of traditional and modern dance) check out Leyte Dance Theater versions for example. OMG I really appreciate this. Thank you so much 🥰

"Cariñosa" is one of my favorite Filipino or Philippine folk dances, and it is a national folk dance too, which means it is not really local, regional, ethnic, and is not indigenous, tribal, or native to any specific place in the Philippines. I like this folk dance because on how the male and female dancers, who are partners in the dance, do the flirting steps and actions, and for me that's a bit cringey but at the same time very cute.

They sound like Mexican music in part because of the Rondalla, of which one instrument the Filipinos have made their own, the Philippine Bandurria. Another influence is the Philippines was ruled from Mexico, and the Manila-Acapulco Galleon trade facilitated exchange between the two nations easily. You should check out the Jota (there are a great variety of them) as a reaction. You may also check out tinikling as mentioned in the comments as well.

In your part 2 of reacting to Philippine folk dances you should include singkil, binasuan, ragragsakan, and Tinikling. This dances are more Filipino

@@uglybepis3571 why not?lahat nang nangyari may rason..isipin mo if di tayo sinakop malalaman ba natin na Biblical ang Pilipinas??if hindi tayu sinakop meron bang mala gayumang ngiti sating mga labi?? Sinakop tayu for a reason And I believe that colonization is worth it kasi dahil sobra tayung naghirap kaya ayaw natin maghirap ang iba..ayaw natin masaktan din sila kasi ayaw madama nila yung nadama natin..dahil sa pagsakop nayun naging mabuting tao tayu..at dahil din sa pagsakop nayun nakilala natin si Jesus kesa sa pagsama sa mga kahoy, tanim, bato, anito or iba iba pa..

@@haides15 it's not that I hate the influence It's just Filipinos are really colonial minded not negatively like Koreans toward Japan, but to a point that they think they have Spanish blood or something like that even though in reality they don't they discriminate other Filipinos because of their cultures that was not influenced by the colonizers... I think it's time for us to decolonize ourselves mindly but not culturally

It would be nice to also react to Filipino indigenous or ethnic dance from the minority group that were less influenced by Spain.

If you can react to SEA games opening 2019 kzread.info/dash/bejne/amVm2tCferq4aJM.html. It will take you back to precolonial-colonial-modern era in terms of dance and culture.
