Technically the betrayal ending is just the true ending, except the game psyches you out into thinking Pat dies. Pat's probably still fine. Probably.

Mandy definitely had to have known about it, since he's with Pat ALL the time at their house, so if he wasn't there, I'm sure he had his reasons. Plus since he's kind of a fourth-wall breaker, the bard of the game, he seems to prefer skirting the edges of the main story so he can sing about it from the side and grace the loading screens. (Even being spotted in the dark halls leading to the party, as CrankyTemplar pointed out, lol).

When i saw myself pushing Pat i had a Fucking heart attack... thank GOD i had all the Family Badges though like holy shit

I finished my 2nd playthrough with only needing 2 more family badges so i\I still had to think he was dead then I went back through the game got the 2 people and got to save him I was so happy when that happend.

00:21 everytime I see Pat looking at Hitman, I understand why he decided to save him.

Now Big Mama saying "there is still a chance to set things right" makes a lot of sense.

The third ending could've been such a cop-out but it's entirely in character for this game. Wonderful.

Well, if you think about it, the murder would be the client's fault. He's just a living murder weapon.

The last two endings were foreshadowed in the three finger fillet, when the player character had a fancy knife on him for some reason. Whoah.

That second ending really got me. Back when I saw the trailer I thought the birthday plot twist was obvious so I went in not really expecting much in terms of story.

i literally watched a playthrough of the game and the second ending STILL hit me like a truck

damn the second ending got me that was for sure but I am glad in the end Pat though a bit of a doof made a new friend in the end

Thanks for uploading! I didn't want to have to replay the game just to rewatch the cutscenes. Pat is a precious child.

When we started playing, I joked that it was probably a party but that it'd be funny if there actually was a hitman. By the second ending, it made me sad to kill our happy boy! I'm glad we could have a change of heart

I didn't read the full credits when I played the game, and watching this now i see that they thanked Neil Cicierega in them! No wonder I liked the game so much. Neil Cicierega made some of my favoitite music and videos of all time.

I did complete it after the playthroughs I uploaded. I'm pretty bad at slider puzzles and didn't want to spend way too much time trying to figure it out. Folks posting on the puzzle pieces rewards video do seem to have found that piece the hardest one to get.

@@CrankyTemplar Thanks for this video! I found the hardest puzzle to solve was Gary's--some of those differences in the paintings were so subtle! But there were a few puzzle pieces I needed a guide to find, like the ones that involved returning to characters after leaving them. One of these was the last piece I got in my fourth playthrough, after it was too late to ride the trolley... and so I finished the game and got the final ending, but I don't want to have to play the whole game again just to see what happens when I fit the last puzzle piece into place! I hope I can find the video.

No problem, thanks for watching! When you solve the last trolley puzzle you get another web address for Pat's website. It leads to an unlisted KZread reward video of Pat dancing. As you can get it immediately starting a new playthrough I would suggest just finishing it out if you got all the pieces as I don't think the intention of the devs was to post it and let anyone see it, even if someone eventually will.

Not entirely sure, but the info on the Steam store page says it's intended for all ages and I don't remember anything being particularly troublesome for kids.

Its an indie game, so ESRB usually doesn't look at it. If they did, giving it anything but an E would be a stretch.

@Max Mancini My guess is it would be placed at E10+, because while that did happen, no death was actually shown, I highly doubt the game would be put at a T EDIT:Going back and playing through the game again, some of the jokes and puzzles would probably be more suited for a T rating, I could be wrong, I'm not a professional analyst.

I really don't wanna be spoiled but this video is just too tentalizing

Not gonna lie, I would have preferred the second ending to be the true ending. I do like Pat and all the other character, but at the same time, you literally play a hitman out to kill Pat. You don't step into that profession unless you can be truly ruthless when the time comes, and when it happens in the second ending, it FELT like a real conclusion. There's just something raw and visceral about it; YOU love Pat, but the character you play is cold and methodical, the whole time you weren't looking out for Pat, you were looking *into* Pat, and what better place to do the murder than at a party filled with gators who all know (thanks to your deceptive interviews) that someone is out to get Pat? But of course who would ever suspect Pat's personally appointed investigator? You spent the whole game literally building an alibi. The whole time you were having fun playing minigames, the hitman was cold and emotionless, merely doing what he needed to do to to get the job done. That's why the "true" ending feels false to me. It's just not in character for the hitman.

It's also possible that the hitman was ACTUALLY investigating Pat's family to see if anyone was actually going to murder him as Pat had claimed. Even if you're a hitman murder is still illegal and if someone else is planning to kill your target, you can always just claim you did the deed to your client and take the pay. Your job is to ensure a particular gator dies. Whether the blood is on your hands or not makes no difference.

Man it's one of the cutest games out there, you can't just wedge an emotional scene like that and call it the true ending. It might be honest for the character, but it's dishonest for the player. And let's be real, if something as unlikely like jam hitting paper in a way that changes a message, how is a hitman having a last second change of heart any less likely? It's a cute game, it doesn't have to be more than that.

Alternatively, by talking to everyone you figure out that Pat must have hired you to off himself, and saved him since you realized you wouldn't get the bills from finishing the job since it was all from a misunderstanding.
