Фильм және анимация

Finally back after two weeks to talk about a film that you all voted for. And I couldn't be more grateful for it. Can't wait to watch more Ozu. What's the next Ozu film I should watch?

I also recommend the book "Chasing Ozu" by Shinnosuke Kometani, translated by Kimiko Takeda. It's a "fan's love letter" to Ozu and his films.

"What's the next Ozu film I should watch?" Any of them...:) As most people have suggested, Tokyo Story. I also recommend Tokyo Twilight, Early Summer, and most recently I saw The Flavor of Green Tea Over Rice. Late Spring is my favorite Ozu/Hara film.

Great review Carlos! Without a doubt a 10/10 for me also. On par with Tokyo Story and just beautiful minimalist cinema that has so much to say about life and human emotions. One of the prized possessions of the collection.

If Late Spring and Good Morning are the only two Ozu films you have seen yet, host, you are in for a treat as I assume you continue to explore Ozu-san's output.

Every Ozu film Criterion has put out on the Criterion and Eclipse labels is well worth checking out. Tokyo Story is obviously one of if not the greatest films ever made. If you haven’t explored Mizoguchi yet, he is Japan’s other greatest master and a polar opposite of Ozu in style. Ozu’s style is beautifully simple and minimalist while Mizoguchi’s style is as elaborate as can be.

I like your channel but I have to ask, how are you into Ozu and think ‘The whale’ is a good movie?
