Great blacktail and video. 780 yards is to far on such a small animal which led to a wounded deer. Most people I know brag about how close they get, not the other.

Seeing your own son taking a trophy is better than any animal I have ever taken. I’m sure that’s exactly how Trent was feeling. Definitely a wall hanger! Awesome job you guys!

I’m not going to lie, I got a little teary-eyed watching Trent and Wyatt hug after Wyatt got his buck. Makes me look forward to when my son can start big game hunting, only a couple more years!

I’m happy that Wyatt got this buck. I just don’t understand the obsession with wounding an animal at such a long distance and having to chase him down. 783 yard shot is excessive. Our goal as hunters should be to make an ethical shot and put the animal down as quickly as possible. Maybe a navy seal sniper at that distance but not on a hunt. I just think we owe it to the game we chase to be better than this. Again congratulations on a great buck.

Yes Saskatchewan has large white tailed deer and mule deer, but the deer they were hunting is black tail deer. Not the same. Not trying to be rude or anything just wanted to let you know. Unless I’m wrong but don’t think Saskatchewan has that species of deer.

I never realized how small Blacktail are? That is a mature buck but probably only as big as a young whitetail doe.

C4 Cattle Co is what I thought I recognized in that area! Later on looks like Josephine/North Jackson Co. area.

Yeah after hearing you my brother killed a blacktail and way bigger 23 inch inside 4 pointer and I killed a 18 by 17 tall 4x4 that would score more then that so I really wanna see some record validation

What state cause my cousin just killed a 156 inch typical blacktail and Oregon is a 24 inch 4x4 that scores 180 lol so record for what .. exactly
