Actually, 'winning' implies competition _with others;_ in contrast, it's 'improving' that implies what you describe as "doing better than you've done before". It's a subtle distinction, but an important one.

@@RichardHarlos well, if you like that word, then you’re trying to “improve” yourself to complete with “others”. replace “others” with yourself, now you are improving yourself and competing yourself at the same time.

@@kafka- You have to twist the word "competition" pretty hard to make your version sensible. Competition implies 2 or more; improvement doesn't. When you're actively working to improve yourself in some area, you're not fighting against yourself. There is no 'old you' whose primary goal is to keep you from improving vs. some 'new you' whose sole focus is to 'win' against the 'old you'. There are old ways of behaving, thinking, sure. But, when there's only one person involved, the correct term is 'improvement' not competition. Now, you can learn from this and expand your vocabulary skill or, you can keep arguing your point and be seen by others as not having a good grasp of how to use language effectively. It's your choice. I'm trying to be helpful but you seem determined not to learn and grow. Perhaps you ought to consider *improving* your vocabulary?

listening this at 2 am while coding a videogame in pyhton give me motivation!!!

I recognized the city and the skyscrapers immediately because I have a very deep interest in skyscrapers and Russia. The city featured in the video is Moscow and the skyscrapers seen are from the Moscow International Business Center (Moscow-City) such as the Federation Tower, Mercury City Tower, Evolution Tower, OKO South Tower, Neva Towers and City of Capitals!

Looks like 'spaghetti junction' in Birmingham UK which my father a civil engineer was involved in building; but it could be somewhere in the US. He let me drive his car on the wrong side of the motorway when I was 11/12 years old. People are shocked until I tell them that that part of the motorway had not been opened at the time. Lol Years later my father told me they found out that the contractor had supplied sand that contained salt which caused substantial weakening in the cement pillars which required the affected section (not in my father section) having to be reworked. It was a national scandal at the time.
