LATAM - Full Business Class Review

When it comes to long haul business class flights the bed often maketh the flight! For this reason alone you can put LATAM on your list to fly.
Join me as I fly South America's largest airline LATAM from Sydney Australia to Auckland New Zealand in their premier business class. This LATAM full business class flight review covers the entire process from the Qantas business class lounge in Sydney right through to disembarkation in Auckland.
On the way I'll try out the LATAM business class seat both in seat and bed mode, I'll taste the food, explore the entertainment system and experience the inflight service from the delightful LATAM cabin crew.
Here's the link to that behind the scenes video on Air Cargo I filmed as part of my behind the scenes video series at Qatar Airways: • Hidden World of Air Ca...

Flew Batam last year on an inland flight Peru. Absolutely loved their structured deboarding procedure in which the cabin crew would stand in the aisle and let the passengers get up per two rows. Only after the passengers on the rows in front of you were walking to the exit, the following rows were allowed to get up. No stress, no crowding the aisle right after landing, no pressure, just a very structured and very fast deboarding. I wish every airline would follow suit!

Years ago, I used to fly from TPE to HKG(Kai Tak) quite often on SQ(Economy Class). Many times after arriving in HKG, the flight attendants would close the curtains between the different cabins, stand in front of them and announce that everyone should remain seated as they would disembark by cabins chronologically. It made the entire process orderly with none of the crammed aisles and mass confusion normally associated with leaving the aircraft. Your LATAM experience seems to be an improvement over my experience. Too bad that this procedure isn't more common on all airlines.

Best thing about working FIFO is that everyone knows what theyre doing. Literally every single flight exits like this with zero prompting. And then gets on and off the bus in the same way. Worst thing about FIFO is getting on a commercial flight and knowing how much smoother things could be

I flew this route last year from Sydney, Auckland to Santiago then Bogota and back. I found the bed ok (better than just sitting up), the food was tasty, but the service just wasn't there. if you wanted water or anything outside meal service, you would have to call someone. The purser introduced himself at the beginning of the flight, then we never saw him again. The lounge in Santiago was just divine!!! Qantas should take a leaf from their book.

Don't Aussies get to use the autogates at AKL? I breezed through immigration when I arrived there a month ago. It was the biosecurity lines that were a pain though... The staff were very friendly especially the checkin lady. i was feeling very emotional and she was very helpful and chatty and caring. I rate Qantas second only to Virgin Atlantic for the attitude of the crews and the lounges. No busieness class lounge can hold acndle to VA's Clubhouse at Heathrow though. Surprised in this day and age, airlines still haven't upgraded their business class hard product to a 1-2-1 config (Swiss also comes to mind). But it did deliver on what you ask of it (comfortable seat, good food, IFE, and service). Also I would have thought the trans-Tasman immigration service would have allowed faster processing for Aussies and Kiwis?!?!?!!!! For all that is touted about the relationship between the two countries!!! Oh well, I'll file that away if I ever visit NZ. Thanks Dennis!

Great video Dennis! 🎉 Only a few minutes into it & I’m already loving it and I can’t wait to fly with LATAM 🇨🇱 someday but hopefully all the way to South America! 😂 Also I’m sorry to say at 2:00 the QANTAS Business Class Lounge looks pretty poor unfortunately especially with the tatty furniture and outdated design and feel! 😞However those window views in the lounge and in SYD Airport overall are pretty amazing and I am always happy just to arrive early and sit at the gate to watch the planes! 🎉😂 ✈️ Unfortunately My Home Airport Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) 🇺🇸 has some awful “heat controlling dotted windows” just like in Doha 🇶🇦 and some other airports that makes plane spotting much more difficult especially in the older Delta Airlines terminal that you visited when you flew the DL A350-900 a few years back now. 😂😊 Also at 1:35 The views of the planes like that fabulous QANTAS A380 with the Sydney skyline right behind was pretty fabulous! 😍 📸 Also you managed to capture a very rare to find that FABULOUS LOOKING Vietnam Airlines 🇻🇳 A350-900 in the Skyteam Alliance livery and a Cebu Pacific 🇵🇭 A330-900neo at 2:15 I just love those airline’s distinctive and fabulous looking liveries! 😂🎉🎉 & of course that INCREDIBLE looking LATAM 🇨🇱787-9 Dreamliner taking you all the way to Auckland! 🇳🇿 Also that LATAM Biz cabin looks a little old and outdated sad to say especially on such a new airplane like the 787s and former A350s (That 2-2-2 Biz Class caning and the rest of their cabin interior is now part of Delta Airlines fleet as they took up leases on some former LATAM A350s and that cabin is still in the Delta network until 2024 when it all gets the DL One and the rest of their new cabin designs like the rest of their A350s & long haul fleets! Can’t wait for that to happen as the LT A350 cabin is pretty bad compared to DL standard cabin.) However I still can’t wait to fly LATAM especially in Biz Class as I just love to fly any airline especially new to me airlines in any class of service! 🎉😂 Finally I didn’t know you could even fly just the one leg from SYD-AKL on that LATAM flight I thought you had to go all the way?! Cool I always love 5th freedom flights! (5th freedom in aviation means an airline from a foreign country this case LATAM Chile 🇨🇱 can fly from another country Australia 🇦🇺 to their own country via another foreign country this case New Zealand 🇳🇿 😂) Cheers 🥂 Mate! Caleb’s Aviation P.S. I recently visited the DL Flight Museum in Atlanta GA and the vid is now live on my KZread channel so plz check it out! 😊

It’s so embarrassing at this point. Every time I’ve flown into Christchurch, even at busier times, we’ve basically walked straight through customs and immigration and our bags were on the belt 5 minutes after landing. Of course Auckland is busier but the contrast between our two main airports couldn’t be more night and day and I’m happy to pay good money to avoid Auckland if possible.

Your comments regarding Qantas International Business Lounge in Sydney are disturbing and unfortunately reflect the results of continued cost cutting by Qantas and total lack of concern for its frequent flyers. I was recently in the Qantas domestic Business lounge in Melbourne and was appalled by the filthy upholstery and disguising food remnants in the fabric folds. I would seem that the seating had not been thoroughly cleaned for months. Just totally unacceptable Qantas.
