The CLS was so unique when it first came out. The interior is still fantastic, but the exterior lost a lot of its originality with the latest model. It just looks like a stretched CLA in my opinion.

dont like the vents they in 222 and the display mh.. But you should check out S65 final Edition thats a real sweetheart .

I wish they could make an EQS that looks as beautiful as this CLS on the outside, and keep all of the amazing features on the inside. Because this CLS is really beautiful, specially when compared to the EQS that looks like a dad's car on the outside.

This probably looks as close to the original CLS55 AMG. Man, I miss that car. Best car ever owned. The line on the side profile looks very similar.

@2 Shots I wouldn't quite call these reviews as 'Golden' standard. Have you ever heard this guy criticize a Merc? Well, not that I can recall, or correct me if I am wrong ;-) Everything is always 'beautiful', 'amazing' and so on. Take the EQS he reviewed. Other youtubers pointed out a few things, but this guy didn't mention them at all (one example is the super wide screen being so shiny, it annoyingly reflects outside objects - trees etc). Other than that, the reviews are okay and I'll keep watching them cause I like these (for me) unaffordable Mercs!

@@SupremeST25 Fair enough if you want a simple non critical review. My main gripe with your comment is calling this channel the 'Golden Standard of car reviews'. Now that, to me, is bloody ridiculous. Any KZreadr who sucks up to a brand without any critical review is not golden standard at all, in my opinion. Personally, I like to hear the GOOD and BAD about any car, especially if I was in a position to purchase one. If you actually read my last sentence, I said I like mercs and will still keep watching this channel (and others).

As usual? Mercedes always made the most grandpa-ish cars. The only Mercedes models you can buy are S63 W222, C63 Black Series W204 and W212 E63

@@lawrence.centinales True, I am a car enthusiast and therefore longtime BMW owner but the new ones never. I'd rather buy a W222 S-Class instead of the facelift G12 7series. And the new 7 series is utterly disgusting, a disgrace to the brand.

@eero3516 giddy mate a few issues had to replace 3 suspension air bags, crank shaft sensor, all belts Inc. Timing chain . Cost a bit however it is running like new and won't be selling. Safe travels and enjoy, cheers Tup

NO...not the gt 4 door...that is in a class of its own...it looks NOTHING like the cla or cls...soon as you see the amg gt 4 door you KNOW its something very different and special...unlike the cla and cls.

the cls is my favourite mercedes car.. so sad that they discontinue it... but i also have to agree, im driving a CLA and those cars nearly look the same.. the cls is just bigger and the interieur is more luxurious...

TBH… they can keep the down shift hoop•la I never used it in my old car. For starters I had no clue of what it was for 😩

Yes, it does. However, comparing to the W219, a lot of weights were taken out from the doors on the C257, they became so light that I have to "make an effort" to hold the doors from closing in order to utilize the soft close function. Since mine does not have the acoustic windows option, It may feel different.

To me, the CLS looks like a mix between an A-Class from the front, and a CLA from the back. I personally prefer the looks of the CLA, because it adds some emotions into the front and back-lights. I‘m completely satisfied with my 2020 CLA 💪🏼 but I‘m opting either for the new E 63s, GLE 53 or the S-class in 2 years, since they are all in a similar price range. The CLS won‘t be an option for me, for the abovementioned reasons. Thank you MercBenzKing for your amazing content 👌🏼

Lets not forget, the original CLS preceded both the A class and the CLA. So its not really accurate to say that the newer model CLS looks like models that borrowed design attributes of its lineage.

@@ashwinramadhar7757 lets not forget, the first a class was released in 1996 and the first cls was released in 2004, so where does the a class take its looks from a cls? The cls is in my opinion a 4 door coupe version of the s class and the cla is the four door coupe version of the a class.
