This is my first year playing volleyball and I’m planning on trying out for my schools JV team. I want to thank you for these videos, because they have helped me so much with learning volleyball, and the way you explain things is always very clear. Exited for the season and hope everyone else has a great volleyball season. Update to anyone wondering, I made the JV2 team I'm very excited, for now I've been put as a left side hitter, everyone on the team is so nice, can't wait to play with them. Also, congratulations to anyone who made the team, and best of luck next season for anyone who didn't make the team this year.

i literally have tryouts tomorrow, tuesday, and wednesday!!! ill update if i make the team!!! i am also trying out for freshman team 😊 edit: day 1: very good, decided to switch positions 4 days before tryouts (setter to right side hitter) it went very well, i never realized i was able to hit very good 😨😨and they are low on right sides☺️ day 2: DRAINED. my energy level was very low due to not eating before going (tryouts are 6-9pm). I feel like i blew my chances today, since i didnt do very well. but i do know i did much better yesterday. tomorrow, day 3, we will play for an hour, and the last two hours the coaches will meet with everyone individually to see if they made a team or not. IM SCARED. PRAY FOR ME GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! day 3: didnt make it, but i have club 👍

DID YOU MAKE THE TEAM???

I've been watching your videos since sixth grade and I have tried out for the volleyball team and not made it :(. But this year in eighth grade I finally did it! Im very happy and I know I couldn't have done it without your videos, and thanks Koko for being my inspiration

i went to tryouts last year and since i knew everyone would wear light and bright colored shirts, i wore cooler colors (like blue), grays, and black. i was basically a walking target that could be seen anywhere

I know this is gonna be so helpful when tryouts come, I just finished a hardcore volleyball camp and my muscles are killing me still but I know with these tips it’ll hopefully be even more of a guarantee :)

I used to play volleyball briefly in elementary school, I recently watched haikyu and now I’m preparing to play again. I had a lot of fun playing in elementary school (even tho I wasn’t very good) so now I’m relearning the basics and so far I have been using your videos the most- thank you so much.

I started playing volleyball last year and did some training and now its time to tryout ive been binging your videos and it has been my main source of help so thank you so much!

Thanks so much for posting these videos I’m convinced that they are the reason I’ve made every team. Another tip I have for people trying out it that if they need someone to help demonstrate step up because they will appreciate that you are will to play in front of other people also it gives you a little time where your the only person playing so they can give you all of their attention!

I didn't even think about wearing bright colors! Today will be my second day of try outs and yesterday I saw a girl in traffic sign yellow and she really caught my attention and im not even a coach! Definitely switching to a brighter color for today!

I love your videos last year I tired out and I watched all your videos about trying out I didn't make the team as a player but I became the manger for my school and it was an awesome experience and I plan to managing again ❤️.

This is literally so helpful and I have my middle school varsity tryouts so I’ll be posting updates… Day 1- went really good in my opinion. They did it two separate groups (alphabetically and I was in the second group). It was honestly pretty fun and I wasn’t nervous really and we have the day off so I hope Wednesday goes well!! On Wednesday, we’re gonna have all the varsity players play together!!! I’ll let you know soon!! Day 2- sorry I completely forgot but it went really well. It was pretty confusing though because we were running a 6-2 and some people didn’t know how to do it. But overall it was pretty well. So tryouts are over and we were supposed to get our results back on Friday but we didn’t yet so I’ll let y’all know soon!!! Results: So there were three teams, V1, V2, and V3. And I made V3. Thanks for following along with me! Ask me any questions if you have them!

@real_vxmpyy some thing I would suggest is definitely listening to music on your way there and maybe while you’re there with some AirPods. That always gets me really like kind of pumped up I guess and excited so just find some fun music that you enjoy and that you help you relax a little. I would also say you don’t always have to go up to people and introduce yourself. You can always just let others come up to you and never turn them away. This just shows that someone wants to get to know you. These are just a few ideas. Let me know if they work!!!

Tysm I have school tryouts for 8th grade in two days!! (Aug 1) I been watching your videos and also Haikyuu too, last year I didn’t make my school team because of my serving i was sad at the time but my mom gave me hope and my family❤So I tried out for my club and I did make it. It gave me a chance to practice, by the summer I was able to serve what really help is have a good toss and tossing it a little forward but it not as consistent I’m still working on it! Also I recommend if you have the time go to your school or club open gyms it really does help! I still have the same coach but she really kind. I I have trust in God, make it or not I won’t give up!! (: I hope you guys make the volleyball team too and don’t lose faith🤍 Update: I have tryouts today! 2 update: I made the team everyone did for 8th there only 9 and about 10 can make it!!! :)

Im having the last day of tryouts tomorrow for varsity and very nervous, but your videos has helped me a lot over the summer during conditioning💜💜

I watched this video before my high school tryouts this year (I got on the freshman/Cteam as a setter) About 2 weeks until the end of the season, my coach switched me from SETTER to MIDDLE! I just had tryouts today and after 15/16s tryouts, the coaches asked me to come back for 17s! I had absolutely zero hope id get on, because there were so many middle that I thought were better than me. But then the coaches took me aside and ASKED IF I WANTED TO BE ON 17s!!!!!! As. A. Middle. WHAT?!?!??!?!!!? I cannot get over it. OH MY LORDDDD!! This is literally the best day of my life. I’m literally playing with the varsity girls as one of the two middles!! I’m only 5’ 8” and all the other hitters are closer to at least 5’ 11”. I didn’t expect this at alllllll! Literally crying! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I legit have Volleyball tryouts later today for my high school’s freshman team and I’ll make sure to use some of these tips! (I’ll post updates)

I’m really nervous for my tryouts, it’s my first time playing volleyball, I’m going into middle school, and I have to tryout for the grade above me with has most of the judgmental soccer girls from my team on it as-well. Not sure if I will make it but This was useful! Thank you a lot for giving great videos and information

this is my second year playing volleyball and im returning this fall for modified and because of you i’ve really improved (and practicing of course lol) but i just wanna thank you because i used everything you said to do at tryouts last year and i made the team! i made it out of 48 girls and there were only 19 on the team! thank you so much!

AHHHHH I MADE THE TEAMMM!! Its my first year ever being on a team, ive been doing clinics and stuff for like a year but I MADE IT ON A CLUB TEAMM! Another tip that was helpful to me last year is be a team leader. Encourage all the other players to do their best

thanks koko, im going to try these tips and update if i make the team! i have tryouts in a week! but quick question, are you allowed to underhand serve in games?

day 1: really good! i only made a couple mistakes so only once got feedback! i had the highest vertical, fastest sprint, and more really good scores on the physical assessments! she said my skills are very promising. tomorrow i think we r doing setting and serving im scared!

Tip: 👏BE👏LOUD👏, I've been ridiculed by teammates for my voice and loudness at times in the past, but the coaches sure didn't mind 😉😉

My tryouts we're delayed due to weather but I'm sure that we may have it after thanksgiving break so I have got lots of time to practice and I'm not sure if I will have it but I'm very nervous but I really hope I get a better chance to get in next year or get in this year

Some tops that help me make it is 1. Hustle as much as u can like never walk or anything like that 2. Always get the ball the coaches need to know how u play 3. Call the ball and talk so much it will show the coach u can communicate What I wore was a white t shirt ( bc I had to) I wore knee pads (knee pads are def a need bc u need to fall to get the ball sometimes ) I wore spandex and Nike socks and shoes . Good luck I hope u make it!

Hi! I am going through the exact same thing as you!!! I'm trying out for my highschool freshmen team, and tryouts are tmr...! I'm nervous but excited! I went to an open gym not too long ago and it's actually a great experience! I wouldn't worry about not having experience or the right gear! It's all about trying new things that are scary and different, but that's how you learn and grow! :) good luck

@@naomistoocoolu don’t need to buy knee pads if you don’t have them already! i waited until i actually made it on the team. just make sure you’re not too timid, friendly and coachable. you got this!

My try outs are this Monday first day of school my freshmen year. This is my first time trying out I am nervous.

So i have been playing volleyball for seven months. I just tried out for three teams! The first team had a LOT of people and I feel like they didn't get to see everyone play. I didn't make the team! The second team was a lot smaller, probably like 50 people. I feel like I did pretty good but I didn't make that team either. I tried out for the third team on Saturday and did the best out of all the tryouts. I just got the results back and I didn't make the team. It was only because they weren't looking for front row positions at the moment (I was going for setter and middle blocker) but they said they loved my hustle and my energy!! Moral of the story: Never give up! I know it doesn't feel good when you don't make a team, but keep practicing and eventually you will get where you want to be! I am going to be trying out for ANOTHER team on Wednesday. The good news is I'll be guaranteed to make a team. There's JV A, JV B, and Varsity. I'm hoping to make JV A!
