That suitcase is a beauty. Also, annual girl's shopping trip is a must! You made a great point, collecting quality things now while you're not forced to spend anything on children is smart. As a mom, I sometimes feel guilty spending a lot of money on myself due to mom guilt.

Let's put 'mom guilt' in the bin - you never hear men talking about 'dad guilt' so why should you?! It's good to stop saying it as we women are very prone to 'contagion' i.e. we take things on ourselves that we hear other women talking about, much more than men ever do. So let's just stop with this nonsense - no mother needs to feel guilty about anything unless she's actually abusing her children. :)

My little dog is a 20 pound half Maltese, half Shih Tzu mix that I adopted as an 18 month old rescue dog - he "hugs" me the same way Dickens hugs you when he puts his head on your shoulder!! I showed my husband you holding Dickens and we got a sweet laugh at how similar both dogs are when held!! Merry Christmas sweet, Dickens! Hello from SC.

❤❤❤ I’m so glad you got the suitcase and not the coat. The coat swallowed you up, but using good luggage is ALWAYS the best way to travel. I love the suit case. I do think you should get the other piece for a full set. Or at least a larger tote for makeup, etc. love your style!

The luggage is lovely. Much more grownup than something in pink. Good choice.

I love your Gucci case and Dior purchases, those two brands are my favourites right now and I have been collecting the Dior Christmas decorations too. They are forever pieces that don't require any justification. Wait until you start collecting Louis Vuitton trunks! They are a weakness of mine, but they can be moved all over your home and seem to look good anywhere you put them! About 16 years ago I took my family and parents to Highclere Castle, before Downton Abbey was a thing and we always laugh at my mum being photographed outside Downton. It became one of her favourite shows to watch.

Really 7000 for a coat . Ok, it was over half price, but even 3000 , you would just be afraid to wear it. You can get better coats for far less and last over 10 years or more. But then, if you're after a label, I suppose you're not interested in quality, just the brand. It's the same with bags I really dont get it that people pay so much for them when real gorgeous bags are a lot cheaper and again last so long.

Never mind the coat, £90+ for a dressing gown is mental! Especially when you have to replace it every few months. I have a few that are 10 years+ and still just as snuggly. Just wash with fabric conditioner and put in the tumble dryer and it’s just as fluffy as before

I did a special day at Highclere Castle on a recent visit to England. It was an all-day event and included lunch out on the lawn. It was fabulous. Met both Lady and Lord Carnarvon. The history of the family is fascinating.

Your suitcase is beautiful. I don’t understand why Gucci didn’t provide the cover that should go over the suitcase for when you travel so it doesn’t get stained in the overhead bin of airplane or on a train. I noticed when you and Charlie traveled to London for Royal Albert Hall Event your bag was on its side on the train and it would be a shame to have the bag stained or get dirty whilst traveling. Maybe one has to purchase the cover now a days. I have a Gucci suitcase that is a smidge smaller than yours from around 1982 or 1983 and they didn’t have wheels on the bags then. Total bummer to have to hand carry (I’m on crutches) or use luggage wheels in airport but folks get impatient when you undo luggage wheels in aisle of plane to put in overhead bin if one doesn’t check bag in. The suitcase is a Gucci classic. Enjoy your bag!

If you could, I'd get another piece of luggage to go with; they are so well made they will stand the test of time, particularly with your job of train travel and overnights. Never put these in the hold as they get battery around so quickly.
