A club like Milan, even if we struggle in mid table, will always be a better and more decorated team than any of manchester city and any other rich clubs this days. The difference between football today and then, is that players in those days played with their heart, now they play only for money. I miss the 2000s football, it was the best football era in history.

Yes it really was a really hard hit. Everyone just dissappeared in one summer... Inzaghi, Seedorf, Nesta, Gattuso, van Bommel and Zambrotta retired... Thiago Silva, Cassano and Ibrahimovic got sold. Pato left the next winter... It was a hard time. We are just starting to recover now with the likes of young players as Donnarumma, Calabria, Locatelli and more. Only the future will show if these comes anywhere near the old generations but it's nice that our homegrown layers continues to be a big part of AC Milan. We are as proud as before, even without the big stage of UCL and the fact that we have been a mid table team for years. Milan will come back, the question is just when.

We lost Gattuso, Seedorf, Inzaghi, Zambrotta, Nesta, and Oddo in one shot. Oddo joined us after the defeat in 2005. Zambrotta after revenge in 2007. The rest were there for both.

Although both teams plan to leave San Siro, the numbers of spectators are on the rise again. Both have an average attendance of 55,000 spectators again in 2022. Still, Italy/Serie A is in dire need of new state of the art stadiums. Even Poland, the Ukraine or Russia are having a way better stadium infrastructure these days. Italy is the birthplace of Ultra fan culture. Everything we see today across Europe, with the hardcore support, bengalos and tifos, has it's roots in Italy. Now the neglected/ruined stadiums are usually half empty.

I Am an inter fan and despite they were à rival to my team they remember me the golden moments of the two big milano clubs

I don't understand why that day the stadium was not completely packed, It was the last match of legends like gattuso and nesta...the same thing happened in Maldini's last game. Milan tifosi kind of suck.

Hopefully this year Juve's UCL victory may recreate the fan's enthusiasm to watch the serie A once again and may put the Serie A back in the lime light ..!! i am sick of the attention which la liga is drawing all over the years where the fight for the title exists between Barca and RM throughout the season and teams like Athletico Mad. and others just shine in the league once in a blue moon..!! :(

You can say anything about Roma and Napoli, but they're shit compared to Juventus, they never make anything even compared to a title race. piece of shit you don't see the milan fans part of stadium is full? and milan give glory to all his player that really loved and played for the club,see abbiati... last year He retired and fans give him a standing ovation and now is part of the manager team even if was a normal goalkeeper and nothing other,and now see casillas, Legend of real Madrid but at the first year that He don't play very good the club and the fans want to leave him.

When maldini retired in 2009 it was just the beginning with the players who came and went . These guys here, Inzaghi, Gattuso, Nesta, Zambrotta and seedorf all stayed with us for all those years shame pirlo didnt stay at milan otherwise he would have gotten a great sendoff like them. Kaka came back too late after all these legends retired. Milan will never be the same after 2013 no matter the titles they win. Grazie to these legends who stayed when it mattered.

Huge respect to Nesta, Gattuso, Pirlo I believe they were the heart of that Milan which will remain in the memories of millions of football fans all over the world.

Going to AC vs Verona tomorrow (June 4th), which will be the last game of Zlatan. Even though there will be “only” one AC legend saying goodbye tomorrow, I still feel honoured to have the opportunity to see him on the pitch one last time.

What a time, what passion from a bunch of players I loved watching my team, hope we can rebuild with a group of players that can share the same passion as these players did ❤

Inzaghi celebration goals for his last, exactly the same passion with his golden age. This man is holy freak!

One of the things that I like most of this game was that inzaghi scored one last goal and his celebration was beautiful... I will never forget Forza Milan!

We can clearly distinguish on this video the keys for the downfall of Milan (2010-2018): 1. After the 2010-11 season, a lot of important players started to leave the club: sold (stupidly like Ibra or T Silva), retired (Gattuso, Seedorf, Zambrotta) or in the worst case let them go free like Pirlo. 2. Greatly related to number 1, it's that there hasn't been any decent players who could succeed that generation! Not even one! This is ultra-important, this was key, because since the departure of those world class players Milan has added absolutely none. The only exception these 8 years would be Bonucci (who has been awful) but he isn't enough. People got excited in the 2017-18 transfer window bcs of the amount of money but tbh, besides Bonucci, do you think any big clubs would have signed the players Milan did? No. 3. Since Allegri, there hasn't been any coach with significative experience on the seat or with important triumphs on his CV. Mijalhovic, Seedorf, Inzaghi, Montella, and now Gattuso who will most likely follow the path of the rest. It's amazing that under all this lapse of time the club hasn't been able to convince a serious coach to lead the team. Even Ancelloti who is available has turned them down. 4. The last years of the Berlusconi era were terrible. I would like to say that the disaster of team that is right now it's thanks to him, even the new Chinese group who took over are now under scrutiny because it can't be legally ruled that the owner is who he says he is. What a bad luck for Milan.

RIP AC Milan. Heartbreaking moments seeing players of this caliber and class retire. Same as seeing Giggs, Scholes, Rio etc leave United was tough. And Del Piero doing that last lap of honor. I feel like Ibra is the last of that amazing generation of footballers and I really hope we can give him this kind of send off to end his career at Old Trafford. Its only right for these players to go out on the big stage for what they gave to the game, the fans and their clubs. I love Serie A and the passion and respect a lot of the big clubs and their supporters have for each other, I know there are many conflicts but I dont know any other league where supporters openly express such respect for their opposition.

It's stuff like this that's the reason I live and breathe for football. I grew up in the 90s early 00s watching these teams. I'm a die hard Manchester United fan but I will always love and respect the European giants of that generation. Milan, Juve, Inter, Lazio, Roma, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Ajax, Bayern and so on were great teams, all packed with legends that played with pride and passion for their clubs rather than money and been influenced by agents and social media etc. IMO, There will never be a generation of teams like these again. Makes me sad but I am thankful I got to watch these teams at their best😢

I’m not a Milan fan, but I watched this live, and I might have shed a tear when Inzaghi scored. It was so emotional for anyone who just enjoys watching football and enjoyed watching their careers.
