Last Days: Wilson High School June 14-15, 1966

A nostalgic look at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California just before graduation in June 1966.
Shot with my dad's Regular 8mm Kodak movie camera. Okay, the image quality is marginal but hey it's a moving picture! I'm just thankful that the film still ran through the projector after 50 years so I could transfer it to video.
I originally edited the film to the song "Running on Empty" by Jackson Browne, but KZread wouldn't let me upload it due to copyright restrictions. A reflection of the song's enduring value I'm sure. Why did I choose "Running on Empty"? For lots of reasons. It speaks, I think, to the rite-of-passage that our generation was facing at the time and, as Jackson Brown says in the song, "... in '65 I was seventeen ..." which was the same for me as well as many others in our graduating class.
If you want to watch the film with "Running on Empty" just mute the speaker icon above and cue your sound system to play the song after the title card, "Woodrow Wilson High School" and start the song on the opening shot of the front of the school. Try it. It's a whole different experience.
