I’m concerned Holliday & Chourio are so darn high that there isn’t much room for them to climb higher. I’ve always had more success buying prospects ranked in the 15-45 on MLB pipeline rankings.

Yeah my opinion is to get completely out of prospect cards right at the time of call up because the influx of rookie cards cut the value of the prospect cards as well

@@t-pott4504 totally agree with that statement. 99% of the time you can rebuy them during a players second MLB season for Pennies on the dollar if you believe in the player. We saw that last season with JROD & Witt and they had great seasons

This is like when Geoff Wilson lists a 1952 Mantle as an “investment card.” None of these guys are sleepers, they’ve been hyped for well over a year and most of them have already seen the peak of their card prices. Worth noting too that everyone’s going crazy for Elly de la Cruz rookies right now, but he was terrible after his first couple weeks in the bigs last year. He might well be a superstar soon but the current hype machine doesn’t match his performance to date.

I'm old "48" and I don't remember having such loaded prospects in baseball since the late 80's. The baseball youth movement has far surpassed basketball and even football at this point. The print run's concern me, so i'm not all in. I am enjoying baseball having a moment tho

I think a little bit of prospecting has to do with if that player may even have an opportunity to play in the bigs at all that year. Holliday plays at a stacked position for the O's, and it's hard to say whether they will want to rush him to the majors, or give him at least half a season in triple A ball, because he moved so quickly through the organization last year. I'm high on another of their prospects, Heston Kjerstad, because he may have a better opportunity to get to play right off the bat. Another couple of guys that stood out at the end of last year, and may get an opportunity to start from the start are Pete Crow-Armstrong, Jordan Lawlar, and Junior Caminero. I've already picked up cards of each to get graded, so I can be ready at the beginning of the season for selling. I watched your data dive last year, and you mentioned something that worked with Evan Carter and Josh Jung, for me at least, and that is to make their stuff available when they get called up, because it sells at it's highest point right then. I'm going to try and do that again this year. I just need to send out my cards for grading. I also have set up a watch list on eBay with some of my Guardians prospects, pitchers Gavin Williams, Tanner Bibee, outfielder Chase DeLauter, who could also surprise, and the glut of SS prospects they have with Gabe Arias, and Bryan Rocchio as my main 2 I'm focusing on there. 2 more guys I'll mention that are going to get opportunity that people are high on, but I'm in a wait and see mode are Michael Busch, and Michael Harris II. Harris had a good year last year, but with more opportunity will, I believe, really get to show us how good he is. Also, Ceddanne Rafaela is another one that was a late call up, but didn't play much, and is another wait and see for me, but should get sn opportunity in the Red Sox system at some time this year. I love prospecting, and I was on it even earlier this year than last! Take care T-Pott. I love your videos.

great breakdown! Im excited to see what Caminero can do. I had him on my fantasy team late last year hoping for a little fantasy playoff magic...alas, he was icy in limited games. I still think he has a lot of upside, along with Lawlar.

I’d avoid buying Holliday now, prices are already really high and his ceiling isn’t hobby elite. I don’t see him playing an elite position (likely plays 2B or corner outfield) and he won’t be a 40-50 HR potential guy.

Selling time has started on alot of these prospects. I think over the next couple weeks is the sweet spot before most start to cool as they get reassigned to minors or underperform which usually happens because of high expectations. I personally dont hold many hyped prospects going into the season.
