When I was a kid picking pole beans the farmer's usually had one lone tree often at the intersection of four fields that we called the "lunch tree". It was where we went for shade and also kept the water bottle. That was a five gallon glass jug filled with well water from the homestead and wrapped in burlap bags to keep it cool. Just before lunch someone would drive down with a couple of cheese sandwiches for each worker and that was lunch time. Quarter inch or more of block cheddar on white bread and cool well water was actually a lot better than our school lunches we were use to. Amazing how a bunch of ten to twelve year olds could fill up bushel boxes of pole beans per day. Paid a whole fifty cents per box but somehow that old farmer got two bushels into one heaping bushel box for those two quarters! Kids sure learned the meaning of hard work that way. I do remember one day in 1965 that he paid me with a five dollar silver certificate from 1910 if memory serves. Shame I spent that on comic books and Pepsi. Paid another kid with an actual US Dollar once that sure looked funny since we were use to Federal Reserve Notes not real dollars. You never really knew what he might pull out of that old house when pay time came. Made us stand in the front yard while he got it from his hiding hole inside.

I had a similar experience hauling hay in East Texas. This was back before huge round bales took over the hay business but throwing hay was a good, if back breaking, job in the summer for a teenage boy. You first threw it up on the trailer and then up into the barn. You could earn as much as 30 or 40 bucks a day if you didn’t mind working a 12 plus hour day. And the rancher usually threw in lunch, which as you say was a few sandwiches, usually ham or bologna and cheese, and some chips. And lots of cold well water. It might be a 100 but the water out of the well from 100 feet down was in the 60s. Plenty cool enough.

Yeah, that's a double heap of poison ivy alright. About made me itchy just seeing in video form. Can't imagine seeing it up close like you did there Chris, and then having to see it again when editing the video. Make sure to spray the bucket, thumb and boom down with a good wash soap so the ivy oils don't stick to the metal and you get a rash from it a few days later. Watch out for the smoke off that stuff too, the oils and whatnot get vaporized in a fire and tend to settle on anything. Breathing the smoke in can be right deadly if you're allergic at all. Better yet, after getting the wad of the stuff burned. Don't rub hands on the machine till you can let it get rained on a few times or you can get your power washer out throw some dawn into the washer suction. Spray it off all over. Learned that lesson many years ago and ain't forgot it a second every time I see poison ivy.

Just a thought for businessmen close to Chris. Post processing of the trees felled is clearly not in the plan for Letdig18. Chris, your fight with the tree made me laugh and made my day. Now, all you have to do is keep the chainsaw in the fuel trailer. Or under your seat.

Yay and Congratulations on 500K views! Awesome 😎 ❤️❤️❤️
Big old tree wasn't giving up its purchase on earth and go anywhere fast even made sure it was protecting itself with poison ivy. Nice fire burn too with explanation as to how to make it so.

Just a thought for businessmen close to Chris. Post processing of the trees felled is clearly not in the plan for Letdig18. To me it means a local outfit (or startup) could dovetail at the end and collect and process the wood for firewood, conversion into charcoal or some such. Anyone else see the opportunity?
That must be THE largest tree I’ve seen you try to burn at one time Impressive!
Great job buddy 👍🏻
That gum tree - largely ridiculous for just being stuck out there on it's own, and ridiculously large because it had no competition for nutrients. Some stuff just gets odd over time. Be well.😉

Nice job Dr. Pyro!! Thumbs up! Stay safe. Jim
I would be in excruciating pain pushing out a log that size bro let alone dealing with the branches, sorry just at my age I find a play on words quite fun. As always the video made for great viewing. Safe travels. Ken.

Really enjoyed the giant tree Rangel. 😊😊😊
THANK YOU.
Nice going, Chris
The gum tree we call blue gum or eucalyptus here. Farmers planted them at the turn of the century as wind breaks. Many have lost their lives trying to move them with cars…
You needed that huge 550 to handle that tree!
Chris Of All Trades..Great Vid 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Chris, you made a short job of the big gum tree that was a big brush pile
Yeah I think Chris needs that volvo 550 in his fleet 😂😂😂
Hope that owners has a big check book, seems you've been there for ever. But great videos. Thanks

Lone tree in middle of field is to tie the spare horses to, or nowadays to park the spare John Deer under.🫢
I would think you call a very large water bearing tree in the middle of a big field -lightening rod.
You need to take a day and drive around checking on some of the other ponds, projects. you've shown us. Show us again. You work hard, take a day or two to just show us some year afters or more vids Throw us bits while you dig.
Chris iam trying to figure out what You like the most digging up the trees or burning them I'd say it's a Tie
careful buring posion ivy, you can inhale it and cause your lungs to get intected by the ivy

question if there is poision ivy vines on the tree should it be in a burn pile? I was told always not to burn
Nice 🔥
👍🏻👍🏻
That was a huge tree. I bet you was wishing you had that 550 lol
That's quite a burn pile. GTlad you have ab enclosed cab while burning poison ivy. Met a farmer when I was young that almost died from the smoke and he could never shave again. Smoke from poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac can really mess you up.
🇨🇦Do you find that you need to replace your rubber hydraulic lines around your bucket and thumb more often when you work around burn piles? Just wondering if the heat breaks down the line?🇨🇦

Do you use hi temp fluid in the hyd ?
If you had the right land clearing equipment, those stumps would be split up in small pieces so they burn fast instead of wasting time and fuel playing around all day picking at the pile. And wearing the pumps out in that excavator,

Poor tree! 😂😂
Another burn-pile wrangled into shape :-)
I'm glad that tree was removed from the middle of the field. It was already an eyesore, and then you tell us it was rotten. And I'm a tree hugger. Glad it's gone, just wish it could be replanted is all.

See? That big gum tree listened to you. Ya just have to talk to it the right way.
A GREAT DAY TO BURN AND A LOT OF STUFF TO GET DONE TODAY
You know some people get covered with poison ivy sores from burning it in fires.
