Thank you for posting. This is the first time LASER illumination has come to Civilian use. (eg: Ultimate Driving Machine)The technology was prevalent widely years ago, in Military use, especially in generation 5 Fighting Aircrafts. There’s also LASER IGNITION prevailing, under test, doing away with SPARK PLUGS and Ignition Cables. Err.. I also increased the audio OP !

It seems the application of these lights are indoor instead of out on the road.

If there is any material before the led module (the plastic housing) the thermal cameras microbolometer will real the surface temp. I tjink what you reading is the surface temp of the protective lens not the actual led diode. LED diodes do produce alot of heat for there size.

Am just going by the first impression. Here's my thought... isn't $1000 an overkill for a Chinese-made version of a headlight technology still in experimental stage? Aren't there additional things still to be understood before buying? Performance parameters such as long-term heat management, ability to handle vibration, etc.

Yes it is a tough process and few more extra tools are need to fix this projector, Regarding the LIGHT OUTPUT, LED low and high beam will perform well, LASER LIGHT is entirely new technology, so lets wait and see how it performs in real time road conditions, the results will EXPLAIN whether it is WORTH for the MONEY spent on it..

Hi Ahmed, Yes you can fix this in your elantra 2017, I dose have a Projector Head Lights, But i am not sure about the size 3" or 2.5" projector, But you can fix this buy little adjustment, And I am NOT sure about the wiring diagram, Wiring thing can be done with a good electrician, Kindly Note : A proper Retro fitting should be done, To get the CORRECT LIGHT ALIGNMENT and opening the headlight and fixing it back with proper sealant, to prevent, water, dust entering inside, Still have any doubt, kindly reply below, will answer you. Ps : sorry for the late reply....

No, It is NOT WATER RESISTANT, it is not mentioned by the manufacture, As per my examination, the laser diode and electronics will be effected and if water penetrates the lens will get smudge and coating of the reflector will get effected too, and it TOO COSTLY to replace and reclaim from china is not possible.

the temperature is more important than power consumption. too many things cramped into a single unit which increases risk of fire. how about measuring temperature AFTER mounting inside the headlight?

Measuring the temperature inside the headlight is some what tricky because the led's are placed (hiding) inside the projector and cannot be measured directly, but will post the outside temperature measurement after retrofit, The Fan in this projector is forcing the air inside (ON) the projector, so there is good amount of heat dissipation. According to your thought, Adding a temperature protection switch will give a peace of mind and safe too.

Hi Drefus Perry, Most of the projector come in a High and Low configuration, You can simply disable High beam without powering it, If you don't want high beam due to space issue, you can remove the High beam reflector (still you don't save much space), hope you saw it the measurement overview of this projector in this video, I am fixing this projector in the headlight, if you wait for another 10 days i will post real time road performance, So that you will get a clear picture of this projector whether you have buy it or not.

Hi Pablo Leon, This is a retrofit projector, if your head light is big enough (like H4) you can try to fix it, but it will take lot of time, patient and some skilled work. I am fixing this on my headlight will post that video in next few days. You may get an idea from that. Have a Great Day..

The laser beam is focused and projected on a yellow phosphors and it is converted to a ordinary visible light and reflected on the reflector. LASER BEAM is NOT PROJECTED directly. BMW in i8 and Rolls Royce 2019 Phantom are using this technology and says this is the future, they claims that the laser light can travel further than Halogen, Xenon(Hid) and LED lights. It can go wrong if the alignment of the laser is not focused on the phosphors plate, if there is any deviation or misalignment , laser light will be projected straight on the reflector and on road but in a scattered way and i am not sure about the intensity and how harmful it will be.. Nice idea, however those connectors are not automotive grade, they lack sealed contacts inside the conector. Low Reliability and high risks on rain/dust.

Well Said, the drivers need to be sealed properly, Even the projector need some cover (protection) near the low beam lens and in laser lights module, Will explain this in the next upcoming video.

I just hope you don't think you actually have a 20w white laser in there. White lasers require red blue and green lasers to be in perfect alignment to combine and make a white light; it takes up a lot of space and is not a portable or compact design. A white laser would be about the size of that whole projector and cost more than it even at 1W. And obviously, if that was a 20w laser, or even 1w, you would've instantly blinded yourself, burnt the wall or whatever is nearby, and the beam would've been clearly visible... not to mention the oncoming traffic that would be permanently blinded and killed.

Theese new Loosely Applied Science & Engineering Ripoffs. or LASER for short are the wave of the future. Soon everyone will be driving with theese things. I highly suggest we all start looking into polarized anti glare windshields now before we come across them head on at night. Hell remote controlled deployable mirrors on the front of the car might not be a bad idea too.

It's likely a 6w blue laser with a yellow phosphor dye (that thing in the middle of a white circle that kinda looks like LED chip). The laser is shining on it through the hole opposite the dye chip.

Hello Sadeesh John, First Kindly check for any warranty issue as this LASER bulb need a retrofitting, and if your current bulb is Halogen You need a upgrade, if you have the option for plug and play HID kits that will be a easy upgrade without any mess. Still you need this laser light kindly consult with any BMW tech regrading wirring before upgrade

@@sadeeshjohn896 My Suggestion is NO, because Retrofitting this laser light will not give you BMW's adaptive like experience, I do felt the issue with this laser light in lighting position as it is in fixed position, when you are up hill or descending downwards BMW's adaptive light will adjust the level of the light according to the vehicles level. IF you fix this laser light it will go very high on uphill (you cant see the road below very well ) same will happen in down hill (Light will go very low and you can see upper side ). If you need this light My suggestion is you can use this as an extra light in a different housing OR try adding a LED BAR you can use them when you want and put them back in the trunk and can be operated with a extra switch (Hope it will not void the warranty) will post a video very soon for LED BAR.

At present i am not using it, But i have it for two months, tested continuously for 6 to 7 hours (500km journey) three times, no issues, to sum up i have used it for 80+ hours No Issues so far.

The Max price in parts is $500 if you get parts originally from Osram. China's price would be $150... Pricing $1K is ridiculous for Made in china somewhere in the basement.

They are absolutely worth it. I got the 2400$ LED headlight option on my lexus and they have saved me from 4 accidents with animals so far. I wouldnt recommend aftermarket headlights though, they are dangerous and crappy.

XD AAHAHAHAHA!, this is the worlds FIRST laser stupidity. with an OLD desktop fan, do you even understand the concept of airodynamic's of an airflow, if your sucking hot air out with that fan then there should be a source air flow in to the head light to cool it down.. so by what your doing is forcing 1 years dust in to the light housing with in a weeks time.. THUMBS UP!

Its a retrofit kit. Meaning you install it into whatever you would like to install it into, but with major modifications. Only thing is, make sure you have adequate space wherever you are installing it to allow the heat to dissipate.
