Just got the surgery done yesterday. the only pain was getting the ring on the eye. And it wasn’t even really pain just pressure. The cutting and the laser you don’t feel at all. Just go home and nap for four hours after and you’ll have zero pain. It’s been 24 hours and I’m already seeing at almost 20/20. Greatest decision of my life

I had Lasik eye laser surgery today!!! It's been approximately 8 hours since the procedure took place and I can totally see!!! It's mind-blowing really!!! Guys, let me tell you, the video is as accurate as it is misleading because it makes the entire procedure look painful but it's faaar from it. You don't feel any pain AT ALL. You might feel uncomfortable because of that thing the doctor puts in your eyelids in order to not blink, but there's no pain. I repeat, there's no pain. Zero. Nada. I had this done after many years of dithering. I am short sighted. Carried out to one eye only and I can see better than 20/20. I experienced quite intense pain for half a day which is unusual and after that, the pain went away and was just sore. My vision stabilised within 2 to 3 weeks. I don't wear glasses and I should have done it many years ago. My only problems are depth perception is a little off. I play tennis and soccer, so it's not much of a problem. I now can swim and kite surf no glasses seeing everything. At AUS$1500, it was a bargain.

My brother recently got lasik, i had to drive him there and back home... he told me it was nothing to it, the eye drops they give numb your eye so you can't feel a thing. we were there for about 3 or 4 hours maybe? the procedure takes about 3 mins per eye, but the doctor wants to check your eye to make sure it's healing, so you're mostly sitting in the waiting room.

@@vulnikkura From what I've heard it's relatively painless during the surgery, but depending on what type of surgery you get you might experience pain/discomfort post-operation. I'm not a doctor and I haven't gotten LASIK (i plan to) but I really doubt it hurts, especially since they numb your eye to the point where you can barely see and can't move it, so that the procedure goes flawlessly. I kinda get why people are scared of it but they have to realize that modern science is so incredibly advanced we can cut into our own eyes and fix them without feeling even a bit of pain.

@@shidasabirin1027 Been 14 months since I got done mine. I still see glare at night. Although, day vision is almost 20/20 perfect. I got this done in 2005, and have had no problems since. I had the added aberration smoothing procedure done as well. In just a few months my eyes were 20/20 for hyperopia, and starbursts from lights at night were at least half as intense. Everything was so clear when driving at night. Prior to the procedure I had exquisite myopia, but that never helped me much, so I sacrificed it for better distance vision. A fair trade in my case. Now in 2022, 17 years later, my distance vision has deceased some, but it is because of astigmatism, not a flaw in the lasik procedure. I can't even imagine how bad my unaided distance vision would be now had I not got the procedure done.
Just had this today!! The recovery will be like a month when I have to put different antiobiotics and eyedrops. Will see how the progress goes!
Literally got this done a week ago and watching this to find out exactly what they did cause I was too afraid to know beforehand 😂

I am having blurred vision in 1 eye after getting the surgery. Is it because eyes have not healed or wrong correction was done?
"I'm not asleep, my mind is alive".
It was the best thing I ever bought for myself. I can't recommend it enough. It was so freeing to be able to roll over and read the alarm clock without squinting. I do still occasionally get "artifacts" from having worn glasses and contacts for decades and suddenly not needing them, like I'll freak out for a second because I'll reach over and can't find my glasses... old habits die hard. Lasik changed my life. For the surgery itself, it was "look at the blinking lights (15-20 seconds elapses). Ok now don't freak out because you're going to go blind for about 15 seconds." Then I had perfect vision.
Even my sister and brothers had their lasik done and they are perfectly fine. They said that they didn’t feel anything during the procedure and it was really smooth. The procedure is expensive but its worth it.

It sounds scary as hell but its so worth it.

@@goat504 Eating a bunch of carrots is not going to magically improve your vision. Your body gets its Vitamin A from other sources such as milk, eggs, cereal, greens etc anyway. Vitamin A helps with the retina/night blindness which has nothing to do with glasses. Besides, that doesn't change the fact that it was a myth by the RAF. Read up on it.
I amazed by how quickly the cornea can re-bond itself without any kind of aid within a few minutes, hope other parts of human body can have kind of mechanism.

Had this done about 10 years ago right around when this video came out actually... and still to this day I am 20/15 and can read the bottom line... the prep took longer then the surgery itself.
