I don’t know if it’s an Aussie thing but we don’t boil the sheets of lasagna. We just layer it dry and it cooks in the juices.

Some Italians do and some don’t. I’m not Italian but I used to boil the sheets and I was told to skip that step.

@@strawberriesncandii now I’m curious to try both. This vid just makes me want lasagna now!!

Same here! I don’t boil the sheets. Takes so long and sometimes have to do it in batches if cooking for a larger crowd. Makes it easier to skip a step :)

Actually, this is how it is done professionally. There is enough balance of liquid to cook the pasta. And it is baked in low heat.

Your noodles are likely par boiled so that you don't have to boil before. Lasagna noodles are sold both ways. If they don't have the curly edges they were parboiled.
I am of Sicilian descent lasagna cook paste 10-15 minutes slightly chewy then layer pan with tomato sauce then macaroni then mozzarella cheese chomped up meat optional with or without ricotta optional then put last layer of macaroni and last layer mozzarella cheese put tray in oven to finish cooking paste to melt the cheeses total time from start to finish 30-40 minutes
I totally think you should try the raw pasta method. You don’t need the special “no-boil” pasta. My recipe is very similar to yours, but I am TOTALLY going to add caramelized onions…thank you! Leave your sauce just a tad less dry….do everything you do with your regular lasagna. Make sure to cover the pasta with a SLIGHTLY thicker layer of sauce (cover every bit of it). Bechamel and cheese as usual. I lay my pasta out the same way, but it will just be a little more work to break that vertical noodle…doesn’t need to be perfect…I usually use the little cracked pieces as gap-fillers. I cover the pan in foil and bake for 30min…then uncover and bake again for 30min. It’s been a game changer for me!
I’ve never precooked lasagna noodles. Just put them in dry and they soak up the moisture from the sauce. It’s always worked out great for me.
This is lasagna worthy of burning the roof of your mouth for. I would’ve skipped the 10 minute wait. 🤤
Well, isn't that a thing of beauty. Thanx Benji.
This looks so good!
Benjis reaction when Judy tried the lasagna 😍😍😍
Looks soooo good
Oh, WOW… yes, that’s the most beautiful thing everrr!🍴😋
Benji! Try cooking it without boiling the sheets
Looks perfect!🎉 i love ricotta i would miss it. I tried bechamel one time and I felt like it dried it out. Do you use more sauce if your using bechamel?
Looks yummy indeed. Now im hungry
My favorite recipe
My favorite dish
My favorite!
THANKS for sharing with us....will definitely use the caramelized onion method. I sometimes use the raw no cook noodle method and let the oven cook them once assembled but really prefer boiling method. Nevertheless your lasagna looked the yummiest ever!!!
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Homemade Lasagna & Spaghetti Bolognaise are some of my favourite comfort meal.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👋🏻🏴
Make your own pasta!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like it 😊❤
Bechamel sauce only yum
Oh Benji that looks absolutely delicious you are a brilliant presenter and more importantly your hands and nails are perfection 😊

I do the criss cross method mine never stay together if i don't❤🎉
Please do another carbonara video!!! I remember you used to make it all the time for JMK, but I haven’t seen Leah or Bella boo eat it
Im so happy you didnt add sugar
I had a thought about the lasagna noodles....maybe your water wasn't hot enough? Did you bring it to a boil? I have never seen that method of cooking them and I've never used bechamel sauce. Next time I make lasagna I am going to try these ideas. But the lasagna looked delicious!!!! Great job!!!
That looks delicious! I do the sauce the same way with the addition of sliced smoked mozzarella and pepperoni slices in it as well.
Yeh that method no matter what noodle u use would stick because your not stirring the noodles their just sitting on each other naturally they will all stick!
divine
Did you fiirst touch the raw meat, and with the same hand use the salt grinder? Aren't you thinking about all the bacteria etc? 5:05

Looks yummy! I was taught not to cook acidic tomato sauce in a metal pan. Metal pans can give the sauce a metallic taste. The oven ready lasagna noodles were a game changer for me. Love them so much! Now I have to try your lasagna recipe this week! 😍🥰

@@darkqueennyannya159 I'm older and it does. Google it.
Bechamel with cold milk works pretty well as long as u cook it on medium high and let it get thicccccck. I'd stick to boiling the pasta , it is the safest route for me xd.
So your béchamel is basically a roux ? It’s crazy I’ve watched you all since Julianna was 1 years old and I never knew what that was. What is the major difference with your lasagna using the béchamel, because I use ricotta cheese.
@stickylolly

Are you British?, I also call it a roux, I've thought alot about bechemel and what it is !🤷 Now I know. I've also watched since JB was a new born.
Just said 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 to the taste test 😅
Is this the famous Lasagna Mama loved?!
I‘m from switzerland and we also don‘t cook the sheets here
Do you put your wooden cutlery in the dishwasher? ... I'm now dreaming of lasagne!

Your daughter needs to be on tasting show...so Cute thumping down the wooden floors the eat shack head then run off again... U know with your Pasta I have made Lasanga lots of times and watch my mum cook it she and I have never pre-cook the pasta just put it in hard out of the box and the tomato sauce and cheese sauce cook it in the dish but you should but more meat sauce... Also with the cheese sauce my mum used to put a bit of grated nutmeg in it aswell as it gives a different flavour...we also used to put grilled and sliced eggplant very nice big time... That way U cooked the pasta looked dumb sorry big time... But more meat sauce dad please... But it looked great. Did U put garlic in it aswell didn't see it go in... U should make canaloni next...😮😮😮😮😮😮
Its not from scratch....store bought pasta. How many times did you upload a Lasagna vid? There are so many other cultures...expand your knowledge/receipes
