Just finished a 10 day journey in Alaska. We went from Vancouver to Anchorage, rented a car there and drove all over Alaska. This state is vast and beautiful. We visited Fairbanks, Denali, Seward, Kenai Fjords, Palmer, Valdez, Delta Junction and Talkeetna. The highlight of the trip was a glacier landing on Ruth Glacier in a 10 seater plane. We also 2 other glaciers. In all, drove over 3000 miles in Alaska. Be aware that a lot of places will be quite cold even though it is summer.

Airport of Anchorage is so huge beacuse during the cold war it served as an important transit hub for Flights between Asia and North America due to its strategic location . USSR didn't allowed Western Planes to fly above it's territory hence I increasing the distance and planes of that didn't processed such ability to fly between Asia and NA without refueling it . During the same time Anchorage emerged as One of World's most imp Air Cargo Hub for FedEx , UPS and DHL till today Anchorage is 2nd busiest Cargo Airport in US after Tennessee

Alaska is awesome. Do visit Seward and take the cruise on Kenai Fjords. Denali is also pretty, nothing much on Barrow AK, you have to take a fight and its too expensive. But its closest to North pole.
