Las Vegas NV to Orlando FL Time Lapse Drive 2013

This is my longest time lapse video that I ever put together so far as of 2013.This shows every single mile Las Vegas NV to Walt Disney World in the Orlando FL area.It took 96 gallons of gas and 35.5 driving time hours to get there. My car was a 2000 Z-28 with 200,000 miles on a six year old battery.I glad that I didn't have a breakdown.

That was a great time lapse drive I've seen from you Barbara. Thanks for letting me see other parts of the country that I've never seen before from ground level. I like your time lapse drive from Vegas to Denver too. It brought back great memories of driving with my family and relatives from driving to Vegas from Denver where I live back in '02 and back. That was such a fun trip even though getting to your destination by flying would be cheaper and way faster but only half the fun because all you see from 30K to 35K feet are clouds and mountains down below intead of seeing changes in landmarks drving from state to state as well as the altitude. Man once you drove through Louisiana there were all kinds of trees driving through swamp lands. But all those major cities you drove through were great to see because now I want to do the same thing some day. Thanks for posting this as well as your other time lapse drives as I will try and watch them all cause it's the closet thing to actually trying this myself but right now unlikely since it will take time and money and the right reliable vehicle too that is great on gas of course I wish the gas wasn't between 3 and 4 bucks a gallon nowadays.

I been on that stretch from Denver to Las Vegas a number of times, last time was '07. Best part I think was when going down I-15 from Mesquite after sun down and driving out in the middle of nowhere, not seeing anything till you go over this hill and entire Las Vegas skyline pops up. That is one spectacular scene on this road trip.

This lamb is so happy to see this video is back up! This lamb got gasoline at the same exit in Slidell that the overnight stay occurred. This lamb had to vacation in January 2018 because the heat any other time of year would have been torture, because this lamb has thick wool, being from Wellsboro PA. The tropical vegetation was great considering my species needs to eat hay to sustain themselves during the long winter in Wellsboro.

The music you put together on this time lapse drive was cool especially when reaching Louisiana with Kool and the Gang. I will call I-10 "the palm tree freeway" since it connects every major city from LA where it begins and ends in Jacksonville with all those cities consists of palm trees even though you actually started the trip from your home in Vegas another city with the palms. I'm glad you didn't break down on the way to Orlando. That's one great car you have.

I have taken this route a few times from Las Vegas to Georgia, getting off I-10 from Mobile to I-65 and I-85. I also been on I-10 from Mobile to Jacksonville a couple of times. Best parts of I-10 are from New Orleans to Tallahassee, got the gulf coast beaches all along the coast and the casinos in Mississippi. That part going pass Pensacola (3:01:11) going over Escambia Bay on the Pensacola Bridge was partially destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in '04, taking out part of the bridge east bound and was shut down for weeks or so.

Great job with this video! The vid part where you hit the Louisiana portions including going through New Orleans and over the Lake Ponchtrain(sp?) Causeway, brought back tons of memories from my trip there way back in the 2000s. Ditto with going through Mobile, AL as well. I loved seeing some of the parts of I-10 I've always wanted to travel out to but never have, such as western Texas east of El Paso on I-10.

This is quite a long video, had to skip some sections, especially the part when it's going through Texas. I took this route from Vegas to Mobile a couple times when I headed back to Georgia. That drive through Texas almost seemed like it takes eons to get through. Not really much too see for so many miles till you get to San Antonio. Like the music part when you're going into Louisiana (20:20), "Double Dutch Bus", one of my favorite disco tunes and the one following that, "Jam Mony". I certainly remember going pass all those swamps/Bayous going through Louisiana. Great tunes from Cool and the Gangs later part of LA going into and through Mississippi and into Bama and later when going through the panhandle of Florida. I went to Biloxi in '05 and again in '07 and saw the aftermath of Katrina. Many structures were gone and saw it did to the highway (Highway 90) along the shore. They wasted little time getting the casinos rebuilt and back in business. Another great tune at the end when entering Orlando and Walt Disney, lost classic by Manfred Man, "Spirits in the Night". Great way of ending it. By the way, I live in Florida just 35 miles from the park.

Glad I found this video, great stuff. I'm moving from Pensacola, FL to Las Vegas later this year. Is staying mainly on the i-10 the best route? I checked mapquest out of curiosity and its recommending I drive more north like through Dallas and Albuquerque, but I feel like this route you took is better

+Ej Smith The nice thing about I-10 is that it's more desolate, and the speed limits are faster (especially through TX), so if you really want to cruise I would take I-10. Plus, going the I-10 route, there's way more freeway and fastness compared to the I-20/I-40 route. Another problem with I-40 too is that there can be snow in the TX Panhandle, so you could be slowed down due to that, especially with all the truck traffic. So I for sure would definitely take I-10.

Let me see if I get this right. You start out near Henderson (near 515 & Tropicana) & you go North, to downtown, then South on 15 to the 215 east BACK to Henderson before you head out of town going to Florida? Basically circled Las Vegas. You need a GPS not a video camera.

there is a cool trick to decipher speed in the video. When the lines are standing still it is exactly 90 american mph. This driver creeped up on 92-97 in texas. (I learned this some years ago with 30 frames a second cameras and ten speeds faster timelapse.) Long trip, glad the "old" chevy made it.

Mandy Hilliker I been on this route a few times going from Vegas to Georgia and it's almost 900 miles to get across. Really not much to see for hundreds of miles till you get to San Antonio. That is one state I could never cross in one day, fell short each time by 70 to 100 miles from the LA border before having to find a place to stay for a night.

Mandy Hilliker That border checking is outside of El Paso and that part I-10 hugs the U.S. - Mexico border just by a few miles. Got to have one there because of illegal border crossers, drug cartels and smugglers and human traffickers.
