Las Vegas Indoor Wind Tunnel Skydiving
Las Vegas Indoor Skydiving.
Vegas Indoor Skydiving, formerly known as Flyaway, operates America's first indoor skydiving facility built in 1982. At Vegas Indoor Skydiving guests will earn their wings and experience bodyflight during a simulated skydive experience in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. The experience is similar to skydiving with the addition of a mesh trampoline floor and foam padded walls. Guests are able to simulate the freefall aspect of skydiving without the use of an airplane or parachute.
They use a Vertical Wind Tunnel to introduce guests to the sport of Indoor Skydiving. The tunnel produces enough wind to support the weight of an average adult. At Vegas Indoor Skydiving each flyer will attend a brief training class, suit up in all the necessary flight gear, then jump in the tunnel and fly. The entire experience will take about an hour.

Just imagine the forces those fan blades are experiencing... they sound like metal from this meh recording and those blades are huge... the kinetic energy of the entire system is pretty fascinating... And to think modern jet engines like the ones from Rolls Royce used in large airliners are producing an even more powerful airflow just amazes me
That's literally a machine of death, you better hope that wire is strong
God it sounds creepy when that fan starts up. That's good to know that don't make wind tunnels with floor mounted fans anymore and they are a hell of a lot quieter.

That’s what I rather. I would hate seeing that giant fan spinning under me not to mention the scary thoughts of if the net broke or if the fan was able to go in reverse sucking people down! Not a big fan of that idea 😂
The first guy looked like the hulk

Man I'm glad wind tunnels aren't like that anymore. After being in a modern wind tunnel I would never go there.

I hate when "instructors" are over doing it.. Let people figure out shit for themselves, end of story.
