I've noticed they've been quite open here lately about songs they stole. James and the recent interviews said they played new wave of British heavy metal tunes in the early days and claimed them as their own because their audience didn't know any better. There's this guy named Dave Mustaine says they stole a few songs from him but, it's amazing how many people don't believe that.
I've always said..... you are absolutely allowed to rip yourself off, just not other bands.

Metallica just ProTools their songs. Slows them down, speeds them up, changes the pitch... The last 3 ir 4 albums are the same songs. Just ripping off their fans
