My heart goes out to Larry and millions of people who are trapped by the mr/dd services system with no way out. I'd rather live in a cardboard box on Skid Row or in the Tenderloin neighborhood than to be warehoused and at the mercy of group home personnel who incessantly shoves ugly crappy meds down your throat. Not to mention the occupants who bow down and worship the house counselors and staff members.

I am trying to understand something. I thought Larry was 29yrs old when he had his accident and he died when he was 39yrs old. So, how did he live in a group home and institution for 18yrs in one place and 3yrs in another place? Is he talking about group home like foster homes? I saw the movie SWITCH and in there it showed he had parents. I know movies exaggerate some points. Anyways, I am confused because I thought for 4 or 5yrs he was living in a senior residence and then finally he moved to a assisted living.

This interview is bullsh!t…people that live in group homes are treated like regular people. They make their own decisions about a lot of things. Especially in group homes today. They also have the choice to leave the group home too they are not forced to stay

i too have a passionate hatred of the "system" I was mislabeled misdiagnosed and mistreated" I endured a totalitarian institutionally ablest education system which was a marriage of Stalinist depostism and apartheid style discrimination I was labeled Aspergers yet they can't label a political map of Africa correctly ( I just did a quiz on it on Lizardpoint) then they labeled me OCD ODD bipolar and depressed for enforcing a masters level understanding of international human rights humanitarian criminal refugee law yet if you do the same subject in Oxford you will learn the same thing) in fact I know human rights humanitarian criminal refugee law in all six un languages Arabic Chinese English French Russian Spanish something even Fatou Bensouda doesn't know
