A piece of me died when Larry Robinson left Montreal. The greatest defending defenceman in NHL history. There are others who may have been better offensively, but no one, and I mean ABSOLUTELY NO ONE could just shut it down like Larry Robinson. Thank you for those 6 Cups Larry. The Habs could never have done it without you.

Thanks for posting. I met Claude and Camille De Roche along with Floyd Curry and Chelios Sr. at Spectrum in playoffs of 89 games 3 and 4. They got me tickets for game 5 in Montreal. What a classy group.

Never should have left the Canadiens! Tried to come back as an assistant coach but Bergy said no thanks, we're hiring JJ Daigneault!

He is the greatest defenceman of all time. Sorry Bobby Orr. My favorite Hab ever. I even said that to Mr beliveau when I met him years ago.

I saw Orr and Robinson multiple times each at the Spectrum and my vote goes to Orr, but due to Robinson's longevity I can't argue with you much on that. I saw enough of Robinson to last a lifetime in the 76 finals. Much Respect

A question for those who had the chance to follow the Habs in the 70's. Who did Bowman mostly count on to change the momentum of an important hockey game, Larry or Guy? Larry was able to do so in many ways in all three zones of the ice. Guy however, had the capabiliity to crush his opponents mostly with electric offensive rushes, passes and goals and in a way that only he was able to do, often, at key moments of a tight hockey game. Ask the Bruins..
