Nunca vi esta pelea de título entre estos dos titanes hasta hoy. Excelente. Pero a mi parecer, Larry Holmes es un hombre que se superó así mismo contra toda limitación pasada. De ser Sparring de boxeo de Muhammad Alí, a ser campeón mundial es un logro tremendo que cualquier peleador no hace. Larry peleó por su título, lamentablemente Alí ya estaba padeciendo de la enfermedad, pero a mi parecer tuvo respeto por Muhammad Alí al no estropearlo más. Yo vi la pelea y en cierta manera se ve que no quiso castigarlo más fuerte. De todas maneras ambos son atletas de alto rendimiento, y si Alí aceptó el combate, el sabía a lo que tenía que soportar. Gran pelea que quedará en la la historia. Saludos y abrazos desde Colombia.

Ali couldn't even walk in the beginning before he threw a punch. Holmes really was up set with this fight.

When tyson defeated Holmes, some people said, Tyson avenged Ali. My question is, what for?. Holmes simply defeated an aging, mentally sick fighter. Holmes was even repectful and merciful to Ali during their fight.

Totalmente de acuerdo. Siempre tuve esa frase en la mente, la que usted dice: "Tyson vengó a Alí"... hasta hoy se que en realidad NO FUE ASÍ, Holmes así como Alí son grandes guerreros, y Holmes solo peleó porque así es el deporte, y tuvo respeto por su adversario y viejo amigo. No lo golpeó más duro porque no quiso hacerle más daño. Se nota bien claro en el combate.

Holmes was Ali’s sparring partner from 1972 until 1975. Not for 8 years. Prime Ali vs prime Holmes is a great fight.

Not really. Dundee would have ridden Ali to the grave if he could for more paydays. Anyone could see Ali wasn't right. Dundee even looked the other way with Berbick when Ali was so far gone he could barely coherently speak. Dundee was no saint. Ali was his payday.

BS the Ali of 1966 would have had a long tough fight with Larry Holmes. None of Ali’s title defenses from 1964 to 1967 came close to Larry Holmes caliber of fighter.

@@5star64 he was hit with a hard punch. When you are running in as a boxer and get hit it’s a way bigger impact then just getting hit while standing still. I believe it wasn’t a dive however I don’t believe he had the heart in the fight as his mind was on other things outside the ring.

You can’t generate power like that. Everyone at ringside screamed fake’ fake when Liston went down. Ali reacted the way he did because he knew he didn’t hit Liston hard enough to knock him down.Heavyweight contender George Chuvalo came in the ring and had to be restrained from going after Ali because he knew what he had just seen was BS. After the assassination of Malcolm X a lot of Malcolm’s followers publicly threatened Ali because he had celebrated Malcolm’s assassination at the NOI savior’s day convention on February 27 1965. According to a 1974 ring magazine article Liston took the threats to Ali’s life very seriously and feared open fire in the ring during the fight. Anyone can see by the ridiculous movements of Liston on the canvas that he was faking the whole thing. Rocky Marciano said there was nothing on the punch. Ali’s back foot was not planted. It was an arm punch. Ali didn’t get his body into the punch. His knees were bent. His hips didn’t turn. You don’t knock out Sonny Liston with an arm punch. And Ali was never a one punch knockout artist at anytime is his entire career, Ali stopped most all of his opponents with a series of combinations. One punch on top of another punch until his opponent could take anymore. Sonny Liston was not hit with a hard punch. That punch wouldn’t have cracked an egg. We’re talking about the same Sonny Liston who exchanged bombs with a prime Cleveland Williams. Ali was never a knockout puncher. He hit Liston a lot harder in the first fight. And Liston didn’t go down.

Larry loved Ali ❤️ even he wanted the fight stopped. Larry was great, Ali was a legend, and Mike is still Mike. Mike didn't take alot of punishment, because his fights were short.

Ali was a fool to take the fight. Don King also ripped him off 6 million dollars for this one.

Ali was already a sick man. Where did the doctors look?

Doug Jones gave Ali all he could handle. Marciano could have done the same and more.

man. I have not watched this fight in many years. Very sad. Ali was one of, if not the greatest fighter of all time, and here he is little more than a shell of himself from the opening bell.

Larry was no longer in his prime, I doubt Mike could have knocked him out when Larry was in his prime, and larry only did to Ali what Ali did to Sonny Liston, you guys just don't want to accept it.
