    Couldn't have said it better myself man. Unfuckingbelivable... that right hand from the hardest puncher in heavy weight history could absolutely kill a man. Larry said himself it knocked him straight out but him hitting his head on the canvas woke him back up. Nonetheless, the ability to overcome something like that is either a gift from God or straight up luck.

    Funny you should phrase it like that, because that is exactly how Holmes himself described it. He said the punch knocked him out cold, and when he fell and his head hit the canvas, it jolted him back into consciousness. He said if the punch had had even 10% less power, he wouldn't have gotten up.

    Larry said that he was out when he hit him. The punch knocked him out and then his head hitting the canvas woke him back up. In the 10th round, Larry asked his trainer what round it was. The manager replied that it was the 10th and Larry said, “what the hell happened to the 8th and 9th?” He fought two rounds on blind instinct. Warrior.

    I think Razor said the same thing when Morrison shot out the surprise left hook in their bout - his body goes down stone cold dead but the canvas crash woke him up. And Riddick Bowe said Herbie Hide should have never hit again after knocking him out on his feet - Hide both KO'd Bowe and then woke him up a few seconds later with another shot and Bowe woke up and won.

    @@humanforfreedom9583 Firstly, that was the last knockdown. If you pay attention to the video you can see Holmes get caught on the ropes when aiming for an uppercut, diverting his attention for that split second allowing Tyson to land 2 flush hooks. Second, Holmes has also gone on record saying "Getting hit by Tyson was like getting hit by a speeding Ferrari, but getting hit by Earnie was like getting hit by a Mack truck!". He says he remembered the Tyson fight, but he couldn't remember much after Shavers clocked him. That was 1 punch, not the 15 odd Tyson landed. Let's also not forget this right here is a prime Holmes, not a 2 years out of retirement one

    David Gifford Shavers had his entire body planted and every ounce of his weight into that punch on Larry and the sound verifies it. Even the announcers were awed by the shot. Power is the last thing to go in a fighter and Shavers had lost none of it at that age. An "exhausted" fighter doesn't throw that punch.

  • @davidgifford7748

    @davidgifford7748

    Nope. An exhausted fighter can throw one punch. Easily. He's a professional fighter. He was exhausted, and if you are too ignorant and stupid to grasp that, watch him try to fight Holmes right after that. Slow, ponderous, wild telegraphed punches...those of an exhausted fighter. Who CARES what the "announcers" say about anything, they are the most clueless people involved here, besides you. If you want to see what Shavers looks like when he has someone hurt AND he's fresh, look at the Norton fight or the Ali fight. You are naive and easily influenced by nonsense, but you don't have to be. Learn the fight game, watch the fights, pay attention. Leave worship out of it. They are just guys who fist fight for a living, not gods or heroes.

    Ian M Simple. Shavers was exhausted when he landed it. Had he been fresher and/or younger, earlier in the fight, Holmes would not have gotten up any time soon. For what it looks like when Shavers lands a shot on the jaw when he's fresh, look at the 2nd round of his fight with Ali, when he nailed an old Ali right on the button with a titanic right hand. Ali wobbled, but didn't even go down. Now THAT is a chin.
