Larry Graham & Graham Central Station with guests Mark King and Carlos Santana - Full Concert - North Sea Jazz Festival 2013
Date & Venue: FRIDAY 12 JULY 2013 • NILE • Ahoy Hall Rotterdam, The Netherlands
LINEUP
Larry Graham (vocals, bass); Ashling "Biscuit" Cole (vocals, funkbox); Dellena Maria Graham (backing vocals); Wilton "Fab" Rabb (guitar); Jimi "Joy" McKinney (horns, keyboards); Dave "City" Council (keyboards, organ); Brian "Rio" Braziel (drums); Mark King (vocals, bass). Special guest: Carlos Santana
ABOUT Press release of the concert in 2013
An electric bass guitar is not just for bass lines: you can also drum on it and play melodies. At least Larry Graham can when he has one in his hands. He began his style of playing as a teenager in his mother's band when the organist and drummer both took off, and developed it to perfection in Sly & the Family Stone. A pumping funk bass became his trademark. After collaborating with Sly Stone for six years, in 1972 he formed his own band Hot Chocolate, later renamed Graham Central Station. Afterwards, among other things, he worked for a long time with Prince who is also a guest on Graham Central Station's latest album, Raise Up (2012). The funk bassist likes challenging collaborations: at the North Sea Jazz Festival he will be performing with British slap bass icon Mark King of Level 42.

At 32:20 into the video Larry Graham introduces a Bass player out of all the players they meshed. I'm thinking he was bringing out Stanley Clarke. Who is this Mark King? In my opinion, King is a B minus player. Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Bootsy, Verdine White and Flea are equal to Graham, which makes them A plus players. King's electric fretboard is impressive, that's all.

Mark King showing the world that there’s nothing great about Larry Graham at all! He may have been the first, but by no means is he the best. King is a far greater bassist, in terms of style and musicality. LG has a revived career because of Prince, end of. Without Prince LG would NEVER in 2013 be able to play shows of that size.

Lol, looks like you have something personal against Larry as your statement is idiotic. At least Larry has his own lane unlike you with your mediocore Prince covers and imitations. Worry about your own music instead of trying to insult a legendary, iconic musician.
