Larry was born in the Bahamas, he moved to the United States in 1976. Despite ill health throughout his life, Larry always wanted to have a runner in the Kentucky Derby.
His dream has came true as he saddled up West Saratoga at Churchill Downs in Kentucky Derby 150.

West Saratoga ran one hell of a race. Finish is deceiving. He looked like he would run all day until he got bumped sideways and bumped again from the other side but he had all kinds of momentum going. I was really impressed and so hoping something would open up for him.

He is my friend Kena’s uncle, they are from Governor’s Harbour. I’m so excited. First Bahamian, First Black man to enter into The Kentucky Derby. Can you imagine a little colt that cost him $11,000 to win the roses? I CAN!!! Most colts are $1M or more.

He should have looked for a better jockey like Kendrick
