Russ Ferrante on the Fender Rhodes. Larry a special player, one of the greatest of his generation or any generation for that matter. RIP original drummer Ricky Lawson who's on the drums.

So that looks to be saxophone player Marc Russo who in 1982 he hooked up with the legendary Tower of Power. During his stay with "Tower", he also toured and recorded extensively with Huey Lewis and the News. then with Kenny Loggin's Live At The Redwoods in Santa Cruz the Doobie Brothers. He has done numerous recordings with many of the world's top stars, including Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, and most recently Steve Winwood In 1982. This is some pretty good stuff Thank You for sharing.

Guy

Hey was this them playing together or just on the same bill? Totally confused because although that does sound a little like Russell on the Rhodes , that does not sound like will Kennedy on drums whatsoever and that pic is late 80s era yellow jackets and russell was not playing a rhodes then.

@@SUNFLAREbandlatinjazz, if you do a Google image search for Larry Carlton and Yellowjackets, the flyer shows that they toured together in 1987.

I first hear this recording on 4 cd set from Montreux Jazz festival called Casino Lights (the cover is black). The Yellow Jackets played with Al Jarreau, Randy Crawford, Larry Carlton and their own songs. Don't remember the year of the recording though
