LARGE Textured Bloom Swipe | Secret Ingredient "Caught in the Current"
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Fluid art inspirational video! Here is a big textured bloom swipe! Trying to push my bloom practice with texture and larger canvases. I find this outcome. Very interesting and hope you do too. Secret ingredient here is Pebeo fantasy moon. I thin it down with a bit of mineral spirit. This is an oil based solvent paint, not an acrylic! I do recommend using a respirator when working with it, do not get it on your skin.
Shout out to Acrylic Blog! She’s an incredible fluid artist, and creates texture in her paintings with similar method.

I like the textured places.
Love the texture and the colours.
Embellishments really brought painting to life. That texture effect from Pebeo is different. A bloom technique but resembles your other pours. Very nice. Thank you for sharing ❣️

This is definitely thicker than the pearl technique, this is a bloom painting. I work primarily in those two techniques, Pearl and bloom. The consistency is about polar opposite. If you look on my channel, I have the videos broken up and playlists.
Hi Sara The painting is absolutely exquisite! I love the colours, cells, lacing and the texture! Wish we were neighbours...I would love to sit and watch you creating and chatting and learn from you!!!

Oh my Goddesses!! That palette is amazing, those colors work so in harmony together. The design is so unique, new, tasteful, primordial even in this particular abstract. I could go more in depth, and enthusiastically, but don’t want to text a book so I’ll just say “BRAVO, my dear Sara. This is so beautiful, just as you are, inside and out. ❤

Dynamic. Looks like a bit of cartography depicting elements in a river channel and its overflow. Those coloured pigments looked very thick; yet the outcome of them not travelling very far has yielded a gem of art.

This textured Bloom swipe, is incredible Sara. I have never seen such an amazing piece of fluid art, using your secret added ingredients. Tnhis is so Beautiful. Will you ever disclose the secret? I found it in the transcript after I wrote this. Mineral spirits w/ non acrylic paint. This is truly a amazing painting. Your talents are endless. Thank you for sharing this painting.

This is such an interesting piece, Sara! My husband came over to see your work and I told him it was a bloom. He looked perplexed and said, " but look at that texture ". I then told him that you explore new ways to make a technique unique and more your style. We both said how cool it looks and that it's right up my alley because I love texture so much. This color pallet is gorgeous! I use this color pallet with the mustard being more predominant and I have a fleshy peach color in the mix. I have to admit I've never been brave enough to use that lighter green in the mix. I think the composition is fantastic! I'm very fond of curves and the use of negative space is great! I'm good at curves but I'm terrible at negative space. I think I get so into the colors and movement that I forget about negative space. 😒😏I don't do blooms (yet) but I look forward to trying out your technique when I do. Love this unique and highly stylized Sara Taylor piece!😊🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

Tara, I just loved every word of this and just pictured you and your husband together, that’s so cool that he is involved and even those who are bloom is.. my husband has no idea😂. Not saying he is in support of because she’s very supportive, but does not understand fluid art at all! I think you’ll love the bloom technique, there’s something extraordinarily satisfying about the crisp lines and do it stretches out. I would love to work with you when you get to it. Thanks for all your support, you’re awesome!🙏❤️🥰
Sara once again my husband made a comment, “Why are you watching Bellydancing on KZread?” He couldn’t see my phone but heard the music! 🤣🤣🤣 When I showed him I was watching your video he said, “Oh the pretty art that gives me anxiety!!” 🤪

Wow! Another stunning piece. Love the texture element-thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent and experiments. I can’t wait to try this! ?How do you plan on sealing this with the combo of acrylic and oil based paint??
@SaraTaylor
Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I’ve been using a spray varnish and it works great. I think the biggest thing with this is just to make sure the oil base paint stay on top of the acrylic and it takes longer to cure. The solvent paints do not seem to be resisting varnish at all.

Hi, using a solvent with the acryic paint, how do you know if the painting will be archival?
@SaraTaylor
Жыл бұрын
I’ve had in-depth conversations with others that have combined these two mediums, and have not had archival issues. If the solvent paint was underneath the acrylic, it might be an issue, however, I keep it on the very top.👍

I have to tell you, I would love to go to a fluid art show, but I'm immunocompromised, so I can't. I SO appreciate seeing what you do! I don't want to do 'crafty' painting. I want to do art, and you show me the way. I'm great w/ color, get composition, balance, negative space, etc. Learning techniques watching you. Others as well, but mainly you. Keep it up, please. Lol. Many blessings.
What is the actual recipe for the fantasy moon to mineral spirits? I played with this, and my painting absolutely did NOT work. The pebeo became like a skin on top and there was no playing time with the paints.

I wish I had an exact measurement, sometimes they get goopier than others, I don’t think I’ve ever opened bottle. That’s exactly like another, unless new. I get it down to sort of a warm honey consistency. You just wanted to be able to move and not get stuck. You are correct that the product sort of creates a film on top of the other paints, that’s actually what helps create the texture. You really can’t play with it a whole lot after it starts to set up.
