Lara has a solid lyrical soprano opera background, she has been classically trained during 10 years at the Royal Brussels Conservatory. She only moved to pop world for her career because she was first and foremost a songwriter, and opera would have not allowed her to create new songs.

She can sing anything, even the phone book....

Hi Grant. You are an experienced and expert singer and your views are highly respected. Great review as usual! I recommend you have a listen to more recent Lara and a commenter below has suggested her new take on her classic. "Je T'aime" 2018, including a link. Lara can sing with large orchestras, but seems most comfortable with small, more intimate ensembles ( such as the piano and sting quartet, her only accompaniment in En Toute Inimite, from which Traviata was taken). Her performance of Je T'Aime 2018 is like this. p.s. check out her hands, which are as expressive as her voice! Thanks again, cheers!

I agree. This is an amazing performance!

I watched my first reaction video of you doing Lara Fabian singing Adagio, just about one hour ago. I suggested that you also listen to Dimash and his cover of that song. He is a singer from Kazakhstan with a 7-octave range. He is not a show-off or an overrated, self-indulgent singer. He simply excels at what he does. If you like, you may also want to check out Olympico, Ikanaide, and Your Love. The last song is one that Lara Fabian wrote the words to and Igor Krutoy, a Russian/Ukrainian composer wrote the music. He is a billionaire composer who came out of retirement to write music for Dimash. He first heard him sing Sinful Passion. You can watch that video as well. Igor will be the guy giving Dimash a standing ovation at the end of the performance. SOS is a French song from the rock opera "Starmania", and seems to have become Dimashs' signature song. Just subscribed. Loved your reaction. Lara Fabian is one of my favorite singers and I can’t believe I’ve never heard this song. Absolutely stunning-I cried through her whole performance. For another fantastic singer you should listen to Eva Cassidy. She sings jazz, folk, blues. Over the Rainbow is stunning-just her voice and a guitar. I tear up listening to it, partly because of her performance and partly because she passed away from cancer later that year.
