Something you might want to add... remove the laptop battery before doing this. I forgot and hosed my new screen I ordered when plugging the new screen in.

I have an HP 840 G3 - which seems very similar to the HP you've just repaired - do you think this would be essentially the same process?

From the HPs I have owned personally, to the one shown in the video which was my work laptop, they seem to be very similarly constructed. I would think proceed with caution for slight differences, but expect the same process overall.

So basically, I messed up pretty bad. There was this issue where the darker colors where flickering and looked white so I took the screen out and narrowed it down to the connector, I decided that I would try to repair the connector myself that went horribly and now I have a bunch of bent pins soldered together. I don't even think it's worth repairing the screen. The laptop is getting pretty old and no matter what screen you use is a terrible FN washed out pannel.

I used your install method for my 9480m. When I booted up with the new screen my display is split into four identical sections. Everything else appears to work. Do you know how i can fix this?

That sounds like something to do with Graphic Drivers with your OS. I would check your drivers or your graphic properties settings.

Not knowing your computer or your enviroment, I would try the some of the steps seen on this page here: www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f108/laptop-screen-split-into-four-identical-parts-702226.html - BIGBEARJEDI lays out some good options to try. I would assume your computer boots up to Windows right?

Hey Eric how were you able to fix this. My client is having the exact same issue right now

i replacet the screen, it ligts up but it dosnt shows the start up screen. The laptop works with a monitor what can it be
