Thank you so much for your video. I was amid typing something very important and a butterfly came flying from no where and scared the hell out of me. As I jumped off my bed my laptop fell and the keypad dismantled itself from it and it devastated me. Am not an expert in IT. I kept trying mounting it back but in vain until I started searching for demonstrations on the internet using my phone. Again nothing came out so helpful until I came across your video. Thanks a lot. I followed your instructions and am back on my work lol.

The keyboard latches are in the battery compartment.....thin cardboard taped to hold them open makes it be more loose before you pry on the keyboard

After I completely opened up my laptop and all the screws I put it all back together as it can't be possible changing the keyboard to be that complicated./ So started to search youtube. This was the first search hit ... thanks

They say you can't teach an old lady new tricks...well, I know how to change the keyboard on my laptop now, not tricks! Thank you so much. Some of the keys were stiff so I went back in to make certain the thingy was positioned right. It kept coming loose. I discovered after several tries that there is a particular way the cable has to be put in there. When you lock it down you have to be able to see a bit of gold, just what every woman wants to see.

My keyboard is not working because my toddler poured water on my laptop. Is this something that could be fixed by just replacing the keyboard like this video or would I have to look into more extensive repairs?

Why do you type "...at the corner of the house" after typing the 1st part which already covers all the letters?

i was asking around about changing my keyboard, they said its $35 for a new keyboard plus $18 service fee to replace the keyboard when i can just buy the keyboard for $8 online and replace it myself for free using this vid as a guide 😂😂 (i live in the philippines) thank you so much for this tutorial

Unfortunately, this method is not the case for newer laptops. As with newer laptops, the keyboard is riveted in with plastic.

Confused about the phrase you used to test the keyboard. I have always used "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" which has every letter of the alphabet. I have seen this used as a standard test in communications many times and many of the pieces of communications test equipment I have used have this as a standard test phrase. Often the phrase has "0123456789" added to the end to test those characters as well. But what is the purpose of "at the corner of the house" part that you added to the phrase?

Same ... I think some people used the word "jumped" instead of "jumps". Therefore missing the S. This is incorporated in the word "house".

@@chrisconlon7970 It is quite strange. It adds a significant amount of typing for no benefit as well as adding complexity to the phrase you need to remember. It also makes the phrase more complicated as a mental image. In one you visualise a fox jumping over the dog, it is a lazy dog so it makes sense that it would be lying down. Also being lazy it seems possible that the fox could jump over it without issue, especially as it is a quick fox. And that's it, nothing else needs to be added to the image, it is a simple image, easy to remember. But adding "at the corner of the house" adds a lot of vagueness to the mental image. What house? Is the dog at the corner and so the fox has to jump and turn the corner in the same movement? Is there a fence? A gate? Why is the dog at the corner? 🤪 I know this is being picky but I always liked how such a simple phrase, that is both easy to remember and type, covered the whole alphabet. 😀

@@jaseastroboy9240 Couldn't agree more. I love words and wordplay, but keep it simple. And remember .... the longest word (ironically) that you can spell along the top row of the keyboard is typewriter.

To be honest, I've been wanting to replace it to a japanese or korean one (regular english letters but with the japanese/korean on it too )
