    @Olivier Girard - the Posture Guru Thank you very much for all the knowledge you are sharing with us on this channel. It's invaluable! I'm currently changing my home office to a more ergonomical one according to your tips and got a question about keyboard. Does lack of keyboard height regulation is an important feature when you are going to work for up to 10 hours at a standing desk? Can it cause pressure in the carpal tunnel, etc (angle)? I'm trying to choose between Logitech's MX Keys and MX Mechanical (both full-size keyboards). Greetings from Poland!

    Hey dear! The goal is indeed to keep your wrist straight (to reduce pressure in the carpal tunnel and strain in the wrist extensors) whilst minimizing the pressure due to either the desk or the edge of the keyboard. Hence, if the keyboard is thick you may have to lower your desk a bit, and use a wrist rest... but careful how you use it (kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYiH18qjoLayeMo.html). I just switched to MX Keys (mini, but that doesn't change anything) and I like it quite a lot! Does this answer your question?

    Or just Scale Windows to 190% and it will display giant fonts, you would have to scroll yes, but they will be appropriate for distance of use. Zero strain with increasing fonts everywhere. Yes you can increase them EVERYWHERE, or even zoom in(requires more energy).

  • @OlivierGirard

    @OlivierGirard

    That's correct, but then you loose information on the screen. So zooming works great for some tasks, but not at all for some others...

    @@OlivierGirard Eye straining information of the screen is masochism. Default setting is unusable for me. Why would people tolerate eye strain in order to see more information, tiny information is also harder to read, and increases chance for mistakes in understanding and spelling. I'm explaining this after reaching position of long-term painless sitting for like 15 hours, but yes breaks are good for blood flow. Unnecessary suffering is the source of decreased productivity.

    Hi Mr Girard, thanks for the usefull content ! I'm about buying an ergonomic chair and i'm wondering of the future benifits of the headrest that i could ergonomically leverage them . I daily spend hours of work on the desk . And i frequently feel some pain in my back , shoulders and neck , especially in my shoulders and neck (sometimes it gets severe). Intuitively, i've considered having a goog adjustable headrest . My question is that whether the headrest is maint only to play its role only when relaxing in a reclined position , or it can be used in an upfront position while tasking ? In my case i'm considring having the New Back Viasit chair , please tell me , according to my case, whether it could be a good choice Thanks in advance !

    Hello Sir! The headrest is only for reclining, as I explain here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m3ih16iblpmTqLA.html. Does this help? 😃

    @@OlivierGirard yup i watched that video in the past , and it was helpful , Thanks ! But in case of tasking while being slightly reclined (to relax our back while continue working ) , is the headrest helpful ? and what if we use it even in a full upfront position as a support to our neck (of course not to the extent to let it make our neck too ahead comparing to our back ) , is this considered ergonomically harmful for us ? Thanks in advance !

    Thank you so much! This is very useful. Do you have any resources on the best way to sit in a recliner and use a laptop? Sometimes I like to watch a video on laptop on my recliner or do some work. I know it's not ideal but would love suggestions to minimize strain on back and neck.

    Hi Olivier, what do you think about chairs with double backrests? I tried looking through your chair videos but couldn't find it. It felt very comfortable when I tried it on, very adjustable as well, but now after I ordered it I'm afraid it's not considered a good chair in the long run! Is the double backrest actually ergonomic and fine for my back?

  • @OlivierGirard

    @OlivierGirard

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi! I have already ordered them but only for special cases (e.g. a guy who had metal bars along the spine after an operation). Generally speaking, they can be ergonomic but - they are often built on very mobile mechanisms that is OK if you sit well but that will worsen your posture if it's bad; - people will either love them or hate them: there's no in-between, as with many of these concepts that are different from the rest. Hence, it's a chair to buy for individual people more than for populations. Makes sense?

    @@OlivierGirard Thank you for your answer! I hope I won't be disappointed by it. It's hard to tell if it is fitting for me without sitting on it for an extended period of time. I only did for a bit at the store and it felt comfortable at the time. It was also the only chair with a proper adjustable backrest that they had.
