As far as LAPD and wait times for CCW permits..... I started investigating that 2 years ago via a public records request. The LAPD and City of Los Angeles has refused to comply with ANY part of the public records request for CCW applications and permits. Currently the ACLU has a lawsuit against LAPD and the City of Los Angeles over their blatant violation of California public records laws. So no one knows what the wait times are for CCW permits from LAPD but according to other sources they do not issue CCW's

Yes, Torrance is the only city that complied with the law and produced the records in a timely manner (4 weeks). Redondo Beach took 14 months to produce the records but LAPD has taken over 2 years and not even legally responded to my request. According the ACLU lawsuit LAPD routinely doesn't even respond to records request.

Not all BMWs are overly expensive. I can’t get over how the police are so anxious to “help” people with cameras. I haven’t had a drivers license in a long time I’ve walk in lighting storms, blizzards, hundred plus degrees heat, and never once has a cop ever stopped and asked me if I needed help. Maybe I should start carrying a camera

when the officer said the wait time for a CCW permit was different for each person he wasn't kidding, if you're connected to an officer or the government you get it within a couple months, not connected to an officer you wait years... P.S. at 6:25 no turn signal no seat belt... how many tickets has he written for both of those offenses... then we see another and another and another, and then at 7:31 the SGT in his personal vehicle no signal no seat belt...

news now hampton roads - while ON duty they can legally get away with it, but thats why I was so interested in the SGT at 7:31 who was coming to work in his private reporting while OFF duty (well and all the other off duty officers)... he has no immunity from state laws at that point because he's not acting in his duties as an officer, nor in an exempt unit... this is why I make montage videos for the Captains of districts stations, when I catch a dozen officers a day at each one and then throw down some paperwork about the "below 100" on his desk which is their own organization trying to reduce officer deaths, he can't excuse anything, and it usually leads to an organized ass chewing by him that I attend, or, I file complaints on all of them and him as station lead for failing to correct the actions he's been made aware of in the past... they would rather chew those guys out with me watching than take that in their folder while trying to become assistant chiefs... pressure the top, and it all comes rolling downhill to those at the bottom...

It took 4 days for me to get my first gun from a shop after my background check, now we are a Constitutional Carry state = no license, no permit, no waiting...life is good.

I will continue to speak out in this situation until it ends.

It always stuns me that a place as focused on tourism and media as Los Angeles would allow its public servants to even THINK about interfering with public photography. Some podunk town in Assend-of-Nowhere, Nebraska, I would understand just being ignorant of the law in this regard, but cameras practically made Los Angeles what it is today.

9:50 that's one of the *160* BMWs the LAPD leased for themselves. Google 'lapd bmw scandal'. They are not being used, or are being used for personal errands. If they do what other PDs have done in the past, they will stay in storage for a year or two, then be "auctioned" off (to LAPD personnel only) at a ridiculously low price.

Re: the CCW permit,good luck getting one. I got one after a 5 hour course and a fee [about $25.00] and left the tax office[DMV ] with a receipt which is good until the permit and revised driver's license comes in the mail.

The basic answer to wait times for a CCW permit in California is, when the cows come home. It is very difficult from what I understand.

I struggle with why there seems to be a mass misunderstanding off four words in the 2nd amendment "Shall not be infringed", getting permission to carry or bear arms is an infringement. Stopping anyone for any reason from bearing arms is an infringement.

you know i fear walking down the road at night because of cops...no lie i'm scared of them wanting to id me and me not wanting to as its my right to walk down a road with out being stopped but yet i know i will and i know when i say no to the id i will be slapped around and taken to jail... this is why i support these guys so my kids don't have to live in fear of walking down a road when they want to...this had happen to me before and i got off but it took about 300 bucks which is bullshit i had to pay because a cop falsely arrested me....its a long story and ill tell it sometime but these guys are doing a good job teaching guys like me not to be scared anymore and i thank you guys from the bottom of my heart....

This police department is helping people in that neighborhood stalk and harass me. I moved and people from this police department continue to help Wanda Fritz, Roderick McQueen, some guys name Pollo and Jr. and Kyron Sims stalk and harass me. These people have threatened me and damaged my vehicle and third party stalk me. They continue to sabotage my name and character. Me and my child are under constant attack and threats to do physical harm to us and the officers continue to assist these people in targeting us.
