I lost my son on 12 August 2023. He sent me this song last year February as we were very close. It brings me solace, yet so bittersweet. I listen to it on days when missing him becomes so unbearable and appreciate the fact that he was always grateful fir tge sacrifices I made as a single parent.

This hits hard when you are in a broken family and your mom is the only one who raised you.

this song has come on the radio many times. I Live with my grandma due to my mom passing away when i was 12 months old from cancer.. And My dad is a unstable druggy. She Adopted me when i was 9. We always cry when this comes on the radio. My Grandma says its because it makes her think about what she could've done to make her son better (my dad), she felt like she messed up on so much raising him, and she wished she could redo it, thats why shes such a amazing grandma to me.. She New she messed up and wanted to do better with me when she adopted me. Thank you LANY, this is on my list of songs that are following me to my grave. Its special to me, it truly is.

I drove home twelve hours on Good Friday just so I could celebrate Easter 2022 with my family after years of not being able to. We went to a local diner that we've been frequenting for many years. This song played and I just treasured that low key moment with them. They likely didn't notice that internally I was both grateful and tormented. Lost my dad in 2014, still miss him 😢

I lost my mom last year to cancer and my dad this year to a heart attack, so to say this song broke me is an understatement.

One of the hardest things about losing my mom has been watching my grandmother suffer through the loss. Doesn't matter who goes first, it'll always be hard on the ones left behind.

I lost my son 8 months ago so from a parents perspective, that’s the absolute worst. Our kids aren’t supposed to go first. Let them know you love them and be there.

Coming from a broken family, no emotional bond with my dad, no memories I can remember only the bad. But this made me cry because of my strong mother who deserves everything in the world. I thank my dad for the financial stability I have today.... but the emotional part I have nothing. No words. I love them both but this one goes out to my mom. This song hit me so hard. I cried so bad. I have not given the respect they deserve. I was busy on a lot of things but I never realize that time is flying so fast and I never told them how much I love them.

Damn this hits hard I lost my grandmother in the beginning of December and she played the mother and father role for me and my brother until I was 8

Agreed! Dont take anyone in your life that you love. I've lost two siblings, teo best friends and my dad who drank himself to death because he couldn't live with the pain. We had to put our dog down today, the pain hurts so much. I do my best to hold onto the amazing memories i had with all of them to find strength and to try and understand why I'm still here and they aren't. Tell them you love them and let the little things go as they are meaningless in life. ❤

This song hit home for me so hard, I’m a teen in high school and my dad’s recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I only have moments left with him and there’s so much more I need to say and do. I’m gonna send him this song because I don’t think I’ve ever told him what a good dad he’s been. But, he’s not even in his right mind at this point so I’m not sure if it’ll even be worth it...

@@Almay20 He passed away a few years ago. I am so glad I sent him this song. It is important to tell your loved ones how you feel, but even if you can't every day, I can promise you that they probably already know it deep in their hearts. That is what he told me and one of the powerful things he taught me in his last few months.

I'm still crying , i love this song😭

This is such the “parent song” that makes me sob just about every time I listen to it. I love my mom so much. Strongest damn woman I know.

When my depression got worse at age 14, i started to isolate myself and now im 21 and have no friends. I don’t mind i guess but sometimes i wish i had someone. Especially when something cool happens or i learn something fascinating i think, “i NEED TO TELL-“ and remember that i have no one to talk to. I love my family but we have nothing in common so i can’t talk to them about anything. In conclusion, i might be alone but i don’t always feel alone but when i do...it sucks. My brother died 2 years ago and we weren’t close either but during his last few months here, we started to talk a little but more. I started to feel like maybe we could be not only siblings but maybe friends too. We didn’t get the chance to obviously so i daydream about how it would’ve been. My imagination saves me.
