LANGURDANG || DARJEELING'S FORGOTTEN CHILD.
Exploring the most unexplored region of Darjeeling. Langurdang area in the Bijanbari block is relatively unknown & unexplored.
Not much is known about this part of Darjeeling, and is not a part of the tourist map. But this region is amazingly beautiful, untouched and completely rustic. These verdant hills are dotted with tiny villages where nothing much has changed in decades. Life still moves in snail pace when the rest of the world is on a turbo booster
But this is in a way a blessing to mankind where people have time to greet each other, stop and admire a flower in bloom, listen to the sound of a gushing river and completely immerse life in the stillness, quietness and peace.
This region is one of the still remaining pockets of the world where man and nature co-exist in perfect harmony.
The people living in this remote location are indeed hardy ones as life is a daily uphill walk of survival.
Deprived from even the basic amenities, life here in the mountains is surely not for faint hearted.
The most saddening part is; when the world is crusing on express ways this villages still cries for a decent motorable road. It is utterly uncomfortable, tiring, dangerous and time consuming affair to commute from these areas as the road is visibly nonexistent.
Just imagine how the kids from these village have to travel for schooling. There are no medical facilities and in times of any medical emergency, reaching the nearest hospital is unimaginable.
Despite these harsh conditions, these people have not given up on life.
