If you are not from a Slavic country as I am for example all besides English all the other languages are similar because they are all from the Slavic branch and to us the sound completely the same! They are the same in a 50-60% in matter of sounds, letters, and vocabulary but then each one has some differences from the other! Russians, Ukrainians, Polish, Serbians, Bulgarians, Czech, Slovenians, Slovakians, Croatians… they can understand one another. Not 100% but in a conversation they can understand the general meaning!

The BBC does make an effort to provide subtitles but sometimes they don't come through at appropriate times and/or miss multiple lines. It would be nice if this was more universal.
